BP1960 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I read an interesting snippet in the business section tonight's M.E.N that the Rugby Mill, Chadderton 9 acre site was up for disposal, although I understand from the way I read it it's earmarked for environmental industrial waste use, does anyone think this could have been a good site for a new Latics stadium ? That sounds more than a little bit small. Isn't the Failsworth site something like thirty acres? Edited August 19, 2010 by bpmarko Quote

Far too small if there is to be car parking and facilities to generate income. Quote

singe Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Not sure I ever read this, but how big in acres is BP? I know it;s not the same, we need more space to develop revenue generating stuff, I was just interested to guage the scale of Failsworth. Quote

nava Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I believe Boundary Park is around twenty acres. I think its 16 acres. The way we're wanting to redevelop the club with cinemas, restraunts etc... then both would be too small. Quote

That, and we would not be allowed to redevelope BP with cinemas or restaurants etc. We would be limited to offices and houses Quote
LaticMark Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I believe Boundary Park is around twenty acres. When TTA took over it was reported that the land at Boundary Park was about 22 acres. The total site at Failsworth, including the disputed land, was reported as about 30 acres. Quote
