wardlelatic Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Playershare was re-launched just over a month ago so I think an update maybe needed on what as happened so far. We currently have around 50 people paying into the scheme, whilst this is a great start to the scheme, we hope to have double this figure within the next few momths. The balance of the fund now exceeds £6000. In the programme versus Notts County we had a full page with details on the scheme. We plan to have a page in the next 3 programmes explaining what Playershare is and why we have set up this fund. We will also be around the ground on match days handing out leaflets about the scheme. We have so far had 2 fantastic donations of £1000 each to the fund. These two donations came about from fans wanting to support the scheme in their own way. If fans wanted to make a one off donation then this is also welcomed. One other one off donation was also received recently from a fan in Germany ! All donations help the scheme and increase the playershare fund, we only ask fans donate what they feel they can spare if they so wish. I have been asked a few questions that I will answer here. What will happen to the playershare money if we go into admin? In the unlikely event of this happening all the money raised by playershare would stay seperate from the club accounts. The playershare scheme is not connected to the club in any financial way. Are the funds used at the current time used for new players or to pay the players wages as well? I think this questions asks. The funds within playershare are for the disposal of the management team to bring in a player, be that in transfer fee, loan fee or wages whilst at the club. If the club are not able to bring in a player due to budget restraints then the playershare scheme SubCommittee would be approached. (subcommittee is made up of fans and the trust) The fund will not pay the wages of players already at the club or be used to pay the fee of agents. Do you have to be a trust Oldham member to join? No, you dont have to be an Oldham Fan either, donations are welcomed by everyone. By joining PlayerShare you will automatically become a Trust Member. Will fans have a say to which players are brought in on the Playershare scheme? No. Only the management team will be able to put forward a suggestion for a player to bring to the club. Any questions, please ask. MORE NEWS Quote
lancy lad Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I am a new member Wardle and think it's a great idea but I think it needs exposure, have you approached the club to put details on the official website? Keep up the good work by the way! Quote

The article on the OS about Taylor shaving his hair is also linked with the PlayerShare scheme. Quote
