Channel M Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 I jokingly posted on here that Kiki Musampa was on trial pre-season. Shamefully, this was so I could shoehorn in a gag about Abi Titmusampa. However they have just mentioned in commentary during the City game that Kiki was on trial at Oldham in the summer. Is this a case of experts believing a message board rumour or was I unwittingly correct?!?!? Quote
boboafc Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiki_Musampa its say's on trial with us? Quote
Crusoe Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) Don't trust Wikipedia, particularly when it comes to footballers' biographies. Suspect someone read the message board rumour, deliberately or innocently updated Wikipedia, the story got picked up by lazy journos, etc. He's definitely not on trial with us, unless the combined might of our friendly-watchers was wrong. Some have been incessant in naming practically every player to wear boots and some that don't. Some have suceeded, even getting in the Chron. But none have even come close to such a oinnacle. What have you done?! What have you started?! Quote
garcon Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Funnily enough it was mentioned on Radio Five before the game. Kiki "Chris" Musampa was Robbie Savage's answer to one of Motty's random trivia questions, after which Motty asked, "But where is he now?" Savage said, "Working at Tesco's?" Motty said (and I'm quoting directly here, no word of a lie), "Almost, he's on trial at Oldham." (Much laughter followed). So there you have it. If Motty says he's training with us then he must be. The Mottster is never wrong. FACT. Quote
Lags Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 (edited) Dickov is on record saying that he has spoken to a number of players since becoming a manager here at Latics and was amazed at some of their wage demands for third tier football. He went on to say that it openned his eyes. Maybe this lad was one of them if he has actually been here on trial. Edited August 24, 2010 by Lags Quote
RoyleArmy Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 He hasnt been on trial and will not join oldham. Quote
garcon Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 Now I'm in a quandary. If Motty and RoyleArmy disagree, does the world end? Quote
Millertime Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Even if this is true, do we want Musampa playing? Just as the squad is getting off the a good start with young players we throw a 33 year old winger in the mix? I can't see it happening if i'm honest. Quote
slystallone Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Now I'm in a quandary. If Motty and RoyleArmy disagree, does the world end? Think it opens up a vortex or tears a strip in the very fabric of the universe. Either way, it’s not good. Quote
singe Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Now I'm in a quandary. If Motty and RoyleArmy disagree, does the world end? It also opens up the question of where Motty gets his knowledge from, deletionsist Wikipedia (don;t get me started) or OWTB? Either is a worry! Quote
