I don't care if we are promoted this season, well ok I do, so as long as the club at least attemps to create postiive vibe surrounding the current squad. Yes I know it may be mislead hope but long may it continue Quote

Ackey Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 keep the numbers low and have a new shirt every couple of weeks Reduces your profit margin considerably. Quote

Aye but you create demand and footfall in the shop if you have to go for new gear before it sells out. There is no point in ordering 1000 and having them hang around in the shop for months. Look at the amusement/derision over the frank bunn shirts that where sat gathering dust. Its better to keep stock fresh. You have to give customers a reason to go into the shop regularily. OWTB were involved in the shirts which sat gathering dust in the shop, I can assure you we didn't order anything like 1000 of them! You'd be surprised how little those types of things sell. People go on that they're a great idea but when it comes to parting with the Green it rarely materialises. Quote

It's about doing something that seizes the imagination at the time, which hopefully this one will. The OWTB Chris Taylor ones went like :censored: off a shovel despite us selling them out of big bags at away games, things like the Frankie Bunn ones were never going to do anything like. Quote

Maybe a small re-order then bring in the next occasion shirt. How about the next one - Scottish Marinio? (OK José Mário dos Santos Félix Mourinho) I would also say do a new badge every three months or so. Edited August 27, 2010 by Museum de Latique Quote

Museum de Latique Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Scottish Dan Marino. And bring back the green shirt and change dicko's number to 13? I always was a sucker for Marino in the aquamarine Edited August 27, 2010 by Museum de Latique Quote
Stevie_J Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 QUOTE (RoyleArmy @ Aug 27 2010, 12:25 PM) how must are these T- Shirt I certainly wouldn't say they're a must. In fact I reckon there may be one or two supporters at tomorrow's game who aren't wearing a Galacdickov T-shirt. Quote

People go on that they're a great idea but when it comes to parting with the Green it rarely materialises. thats because it is basically a specialist market that is being targeted...nobody outside of the latics family is ever going to buy one...you have what around 4500 hard core fans, but you wont sell anything like that amount either.. i know you can get wholesale t-shirts quite cheap...but not sure on printing costs or minimum orders...i know about t shirt transfers which are basically cheap, and dont look quite as proffesional or harder wearing, but for a quick gimmicky fix they work. regarding other ideas...scottish mouriniho is good "we towd em owdem" when promotion is imminent, lol "wee jocks barmy army" Quote
opinions4u Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Perhaps releasing "limited edition" t-shirts each month can increase demand. 50 a month .... £10 a time ... different message each month. Quote

edhunteruk Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 EXACTLY again it would depend on printing costs wouldnt it??? how much do they charge, obviously cheaper if more ordered etc Quote
opinions4u Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) again it would depend on printing costs wouldnt it??? how much do they charge, obviously cheaper if more ordered etc Yup - but better to order too few at a higher unit cost than too many at a lower cost that never sell. Restrciting supply alongside decent marketing increases demand - and potentially price (with little likelihood of excess stock). Edited August 27, 2010 by opinions4u Quote
Beardy Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I went in the club shop today all intent on buying the new shirt, not that cheap Galackdickovs shirt, as its a bag of ! But to say the quality of football shirts are bad nowadays, there was a time when i wouldnt blink an eye when buying a new latics kit, and even of i couldnt afford it back then i would still find a way. Now i have to say i would rather spend the money on , off a naughty mancunian lady! Quote
