underdog
Interesting to see how other footy fans/opps media rates us. opinions4u
Don't think it's justified. Charlton still remember last season when we bored them in to a draw. On Saturday there were two incidents within a minute. The first one Taylor went down after a hard challenge (fair in my opinion, but he'd have felt it - still soft to need treatment though) and a few seconds after the restart another Latics player went down, but I couldn't really see what caused it. I don't think it was a timewasting ploy, because there was still around 40 minutes left. It might have been frustrating for home fans seeing their team chase the game though. I think we played more "anti football" last season TBH. I am liking what I am seeing so far on the pitch and that is a massive difference on those cold winter/lashing it down like tonight games. I think we all needed to see a better postive product on the pitch and its getting there.
rudemedic
Frankly I don't care, we are getting a reputation in part for who our manager is- the number of times I've heard someone say we play like a team full of Dickovs (but lets not give him too much of a diservice he had some skills). Against some of the better teams we will play that way, but against some of the lesser teams... we might give a few a shock and play it round them (from my understanding we were a bit thuggish against Charlton but we also played the better football). DP's two best/better results were hard fought away draws and bar the odd change (the biggest of which was a defensive one) its the same squad who still know how to play that way when they need to. PD, however, has them going for it a bit more. If we are successful this season I think some credit needs to go to DP as the number of times under Shez (and JR) we got outmuscled is too numerous to count, that stopped very early on last season. At this level IMO its far easier coaching a team to play attacking football than defensive bully-boy football

Think of one of DP's biggest mistakes was not renewing alan sheehans loan, as after that it started a left back merry go round with unfit left backs, right backs playing their until black made it his own, and AS linked up well with who was on the left side

It was a big error, but we'd have been paying him for a month when he couldn't play in half the games (as we had Leeds twice) and we wouldn't have been allowed to loan him again until the Jan transfer window opened, as he'd been here 2 months. Butter
Interesting to see how other footy fans/opps media rates us. "oldham resorted to anit-football tactics long before that with time wasting and phantom injuries the order of the day - strangely, they stopped when posh hit the front" http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/sport/f...ually_1_1154404 Don't think Charlton loved us either.... Now lets hope we can muster a fortress reputation at BP.. "welcome to hell..." 2-0 up away from home you're going to take more time with goal kicks/throw ins. I dont think we were bad enough time wasters!! ha. Its when you're time wasting from the 1st minute holding out for a 0-0 draw thats anti football (majority of last season). Any mentions on there of the stamp on Jones, hence his reaction. Or the blatant punch swung by Mclean? garcon
Personally, I'd be over the moon if we gained a reputation of being hard, dirty bastards who were f*cking difficult to beat.
