So who's giving out personal details?

Recommended Posts

No problems with this, and once I know what i'm up to next week, I'll probably take him up on his offer, strange that he didn't contact me on my AOL account - which is the one I have registered on here with.

Hi Paul

I think I am right in assuming that you post as oafcprozac on OWTB.

If this is not the case then please accept my apologies.

However I have read the posts from oafcprozac recently and am concerned about some of the criticism the club and me personally have received.

I would like the opportunity of having a chat with you over a cuppa and discussing some of the points you have raised.

Let me know what day is best for you next week and I will look forward to meeting with you at Boundary Park

Many thanks

Alan

It does seem the club cannot take criticism in any form, anyhow i'll put something together and go and see him in my own time. In the meantime if anyone else has any questions they'd like me to put forward in person, now's your chance!

My reply:-

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the offer of you giving up your time, I'm not exactly sure when I'm free next week, but I will take you up on your kind offer sometime in the near future. As you know there are several issues I wish to clarify not least the perceived lack of marketing from the club, the negativity eminating from the boardroom and the unwillingness to take on the many viable (proven at other clubs) money-making initiatives suggested by fans. As you know many of the concerns I share are indicative of the wider fanbase and have been for a number of years.

Kind Regards

Paul

Actually can I just clarify one thing before you go to see alan,

Last year when we lost hillstone as our sponsor I had a few of my own Ideas of how to raise the money lost by the collapse in sponsorship,

I came up with 2 ideas; Billboards being errected and selling the space and a sponsorship program from lots of small businesses rather than one big business.

Alan contacted me the next day and invited me in to see himself and Gordon Lawton which I accepted, they listened to what I said and gave me some feedback on my ideas, they took into consideration what I said, looked into the ideas seriously and they told me wether or not my ideas were feasable.

I have to say that in that respect the club are second to none for hospitality and taking onboard what the fans have to say.

How many other fans can say that they have been in contact with the cheif executive of their club who has invited them in to discuss their issues?

at the end of the day a lot has been said over the years about Alan in the respect of not giving too much away and thus people get a negative view of him, but I have to say having met Alan on my work experience and a meeting with him, hes great with people and very hospitable and open

If I received that response, I'd think that you were trying to get into the debate by email, rather than have to meet and chat face to face.

I dont think this thread is going to result in anything healthy and is only going to make the situation more tense... Might be best removing / locking and you deal with Alan on this...

...its only going to result in everyone and there son passing comment and inflaming the situation...

Turns out he had it from the stadium consultation comments I emailed him in February - forgot about that and it'll be on the ST database -, fair enough.

Doh! , I can honestly say Alan has always been great with me. He has given complimentary tickets to the childrens home i work for the last couple of seasons and that for one has worked in my favour as i can now go to BP whilst im at work because one of the young lads is now a converted Latics supporter.

Prozac, with the amount of years Alan has had at The Latics im sure he's as pissed off as the rest of us given the attendances this season, dont forget this guy is an Oldham fan just like us and im sure there have been many times in the last 20 or so years when he himself has thought is it worth the hassle? We as fans are entitled to our opinions as we are the payers of the players wages but how frustrating must it be for the owners, directors to see us playing our best football in years by our worst ever crowds.

Yeah and i'm one of the 'worst ever crowds' every bloody week and have been for 25 years, as we've discussed through the week we can see improvement on the pitch - the concerns are off it. I just want to know what is being done and if things can be done any different.

I see you have been summond to see the "The Emperor" cue the evil empire tune from Star Wars! I have one bug bear that I feel needs a mention.

Why is there so much inconsistant information coming out of the club from the directors?

Examples of this:

1) TTA saying they are going nowhere, then a few weeks later 2 of them leave.

2) Being told we have a budget for this season and that the Eaves transfer will see us out for part of next season too. Then having him and another director asking us to dig more deeply into our pockets or the club will die!

Those are the main examples I can think of.

Another suggestion in regards to bringing in more fans, have fans subscribe to a membership scheme for a fee per season that entitles them to a discount on matchday entry, programmes and souvenirs.

If the club can't do that off there own back, then maybe in partnership with the trust extend those perks to trust members, hence enticing more fans to join the trust.

Season ticket holders should be entitled to a complimentary matchday program as part of the perk of being a season ticket holder.

All kudos for AH for taking the initiative and seeking prozac out, and the balls to ask to meet you.

Credit for prozac for taking him up, I suspect prozac you are one of the people that is much better face to face, than the write word.

Anyway prozac, would you be able to ask alan the exact situation on ownership of the ground, and linked, how precarious is the situation with calling in debt and the day to day expenses next year if this years budget is covered. And specifically the plan if Failsworth is stalled much further.

Thanks
