Dave_Og
Ipswich season ticket holder in the office telling he was chatting to an ex-Oldham player at the weekend - Alan Hunter watching his grandson play in a youth match. Huinter there with an elderly woman, apparently his mother/mother-in-law. She took a tumble on the grass and he just ignored her and carried on watching the game. They bred centre-halves tough in the sixties; he probably took her down! Said colleague also recalled Kuqi's Ipswich debut when he came on as a sub to huge acclaim only to pull up with a torn hamstring before play restarted... LaticsPete
A very good centre half was Alan Hunter. One of many N Irish lads brought across , Hunter was signed from Coleraine. Strong in the air and a good footballer with his feet he was here just over two seasons from 1967 -69. Went to Blackburn first I think and then on to Ipswich. Got over 50 caps . A good player who did well in the top flight.
