Stevie_J
Latics take on Huddersfield at Boundary Park, following an eventful week. Paul Dickov's men will be hoping for a win to erase memories of a poor performance at Colchester which saw them convincingly beaten. Since that game the club have received the bad news that Josh Parker, who has made a promising start to his Latics career, will be sidelined for up to 12 weeks after he suffered a knee injury in the win over Rochdale. Hot prospect, David Mellor signed his first professional contract. And two new faces arrived ahead of Wednesday's transfer deadline: Tom Adeyemi on a five-month loan deal from Norwich City and striker Shefki Kuqi, who has been a free agent since his release from Newcastle United. Lee Clark did not add to his squad ahead of the deadline, suggesting he is happy with his lot. That seems hardly surprising, however, given that his side are unbeaten in 30 league games. The good news for Latics is that the Terriers' top scorer Jordon Rhodes, son of former-Latics 'keeper Andy, is unavailable as he is with the Scotland U21 squad. The bad news is that in Lee Novak and Alan Lee they have players very capable of troubling Latics' rearguard. Peter Clarke looks set to return following his recovery from a back injury. Nathan Clarke, on loan from Huddersfield, is not able to play against his parent club and Frenchman Jean Yves M'voto is set to step in to the centre back berth. Paul Black joins Josh Parker and Dean Furman on the injury list and is likely to be replaced by M'voto's compatriot Bradley Diallo making his full début. Carl Winchester is away on International duty but young defender James Tarkowsi makes the matchday squad for the first time this season following his injury lay-off. Experienced front-man Shefki Kuqi is set to make his debut, looking to change the fortunes of a Latics side desperately short of goals up to now. Latics squad: Cisak, M'Voto, Black, Wesolowski, Diamond, Morais, Reid, Adeyemi, Diallo, Smith, Brooke, Tarkowski, Taylor, Lee, Lund, Millar, Gerrard, Mellor, Kuqi Predicted starting line-up: Cisak Lee M'Voto Diamond Diallo Morais Wesolowski Mellor Taylor Kuqi Reid Scoreline prediction: Latics 1-3 Huddersfield
