apple
Loaner Seems as though the way is being prepared for Ryan to go on loan. As long as there was an immediate recall clause that's probably a good idea.

For me he can only do him good, I dont think he has a sniff at the first team Reid , Kuqi , Smith ahead of him in the Centre forward position , then Morais and Taylor would play ahead of him I think then we also have Parker to come back into the team. If he goes out and bangs 10 in for someone then fair enough but from what I have seen of him he doesnt look good enough and is very lightweight for his size
opinions4u
Would do him and Latics no harm. Preferably not non-league though.
BP1960
Would do him and Latics no harm. Preferably not non-league though. It didn't do Chris Taylor any harm, non league lets players see things from the other side where it's not as cushy as reserve team football, a spell at somewhere like Barrow would probably do him good as it would Carr, Miller and Hughes. Millar I definitely agree, not sure why he consistently is part of the matchday squad. His debut was encouraging but I've seen absolutely nothing from him since either in the first team or the reserves... When we've loaned players to Barrow in the past it has been before they've made the breakthrough. Brooke has done that but found himself down the pecking order. I think he should go out to a League Two club, apart from a short, sharp, shock, I see little benefit loaning a lad who has scored goals in the FL and in friendlies against higher league opposition to the conference. He should be looking to improve at a league standard, not down amongst the muck and bullets (and thuggish centre-backs) in the Conference or lower, Plymouth are struggling, if he could get over the geographic location that may be a good move or places like Macc (Stockport lad?) would be ideal... As long as there was an immediate recall clause that's probably a good idea. I think that's what the article is gearing towards isn't it? I'd say it would be a good decision for both parties to make a loan move happen; Brooke gets the games he needs and hopefully with that run then gets a few goals and an increased confidence, and the club get a player continuing his development away from our 1st team. If it works out as a positive, then Brooke comes back & presses for a starting spot, the flip side being maybe whilst he's away the club realise he isn't needed; and the player has an opportunity to showcase himself in the 'shop-window' of playing games. Either League 2 or Blue Square Prem would be where I'd be looking; as I doubt there would be a League 1 side who would take him as a 1st team regular; and there is little point going somewhere to sit on the bench. Macclesfield sold their main striker, Emile Sinclair, on transfer deadline day - and to my knowledge they haven't brought anyone in to replace him yet; going with what they had to date. That would be a move that would surely suit, Brooke can remain in his current house as Macc is local, they are short up-front and it's at a standard of football not too dissimilar to the one we play at. Make it so PD!!!

BP1960
Millar in Central mid ? believe it when I see it , not a chance I have seen him play in that role, he shows a lot of promise as an attacking midfielder, but needs to protect the ball better. slystallone
I have seen him play in that role, he shows a lot of promise as an attacking midfielder, but needs to protect the ball better. Millar is nice & direct, and what I like about him that he doesn't appear to have any fear. He also certainly doesn't lack the heart for a battle (or a tackle!) Where he falls down IMO is that he seems to favour the blind alley route that Deane Smalley used to go down. When he first broke into the side he kept it simple, ran at pace at the full-back and got a ball into an attacking area. This season from the little cameos I've seen of him in pre-season the league games he's featured in, he seems to have forgotten the simple things and has ended up running the ball out of play or getting sandwiched by a couple of opposition players after making a wrong decision to turn inside. I too could see him moving inside BP60, as his direct running through the centre could cause problems. He also has very decent quality with his right foot; long shots are impressive in particular. I loan move for him to a similar level as we're discussing for Brooke would also be a big benefit to him IMO. Whether that be a right winger or as an attacking midfielder would be a decision for the side who takes him on.

You've just jogged my memory there, he played a fair bit of pre-season in CM and Burns apart was arguably our best player in the friendly defeat to Burnley at Chapel Road. I don't think he's a winger (no end product - but he's in good company at BP there!)
