HarryBosch
Great result, very good away performance Cisak - not a lot to do 1st half, some good saves 2nd half Lee - much better back at RB. Mellor - solid if unspectacular first full 90 minutes M'Voto - best I've seen him this season Clarke - excellent, very vocal Taylor - his best game of the season even without the goal Simpson - excellent, my MoM. great driving run from centre mid to start the move for the goal. kept the ball very well and calmed things down on the right. tackled back very well. seemed to be everywhere & do everything. Wesolowski - yard dog. very close 2nd to Simmo Adeyemi - did ok but i'm yet to be convinced Reid - full of running again, seems at his best when he drops deep and has a run with the ball. Kuqi - a poor game on the face of it but his presence & running help massively to keep the opposition on the back foot Smith - won a few headers, did ok They were poor but did have us under the cosh for the last 10 minutes and we weathered it well. Once Furman is fit and if Reid can start finding the net I think we've got a definite chance of the playoffs.
razza699
So we should stick with Mvoto and Clarke for know you think ? I cant help but feeling Diamond will walk straight back in though

Agree with most of that except MOM - Wesolowski head & shoulders above anyone again but great to see M'voto back to his best and hopefully will do the same as last time when he needed 6 games or so to settle in. Simpson didn't over impress me , had a steady game and held his position well but nothing over exciting. Morais will hopefully be back saturday and offer something more creative. Need Furmin back as we are clearly struggling in midfield. Adeyemi spends far too long on the sidelines watching and Weso is over stretched at times especially against the better sides. Reid played well but will never be a prolific scorer mainly because he just isn't a box striker. He may get 7 - 8 goals a season with shots from the edge of the box . Little bit disappointed with Kuqi because some excellent crosses came in and just needed tapping in but he wasn't there !!!! Overall though a really good solid performance and when you see last nights results does it not give a much better light on our results against Stevenage & Udders ?? HarryBosch
Agree with most of that except MOM - Wesolowski head & shoulders above anyone again maybe it's because I've seen Wesolowski do that before. Simmo was doing something that we've not seen for a while I thought.

I think Dickov will do all he can to sign both Clarke and Simpson on permanent deals.

Think that will be Weso's problem with a lot of fans in the future , he plays at such a high standard every game that it is already becomming the norm ?? When that happens his peformances tend to get overlooked and others that don't normally play that well get MOM when they do. Didn't see anything in Simpson that would have me saying "yes lets sign him up " but you obvioulsy did ???

I think last night (whilst I wasn't there) was probably a case of two games too close together for Kuqi, who is only just beginning to get proper match fitness. slystallone
he should stick with mvoto n clarke, diamonds dodgy to say the least....but i bet he doesnt... Really? Hmmmmm. Disagree there. If anyone in the back 4 has merited being dropped its been Jean-Yves; who has been extremely poor IMO. He took 10 games to settle down and hit some consistent form last season; so hopefully we're heading in that direction if his performance last night was improved. However, for me, Diamond has been extremely solid, silly Cruff drag-back at Yeovil apart. Clarke had a great debut, but then followed it up with a stinker Vs. Colchester. Again, from reading posts - he appeared to be improved last night. We have options at CB; which is great. But for me; Diamond gets back in as soon as he's fit enough. I was working in Loughborough last night so didn’t see the result until turned midnight - really chuffed when I did though, a great win & great result. And, as someone else has mentioned; when you see that Stevenage spanked Sheff Weds 5-1 and Huddersfield beat Sheff Utd 3-0, our 2 results against them really don't look too bad now (not that I though either were 'bad' I might add) Much happier that PD went with Mellor at LB, he is showing to me that he is learning from mistakes - something Shez never did really. I like the fact that PD appears to be able to be man enough to admit he may have got things wrong & make the necessary changes. Promising, and slowly & surely; this season is coming together. Happy days

He strikes me as the type of player who you don't especially notice just how much work they do / pitch they cover & the role they play in the side, until they are missing through injury & suspension. I've been very impressed by Wes, Yeovil apart*, and I think he's been a very shrewd signing. .* where all the side were poor.
pukka
I thought Simpson was a striker? I expected him to be up top (I know injuries are a factor)

the_mighty_bosh
Really happy with yesterday's win and performance! Massive improvement from Yeovil and we looked like a solid and competent team. With two exceptions I thought everyone played well without being great. Kuqi didn't have a good game going forward but his work rate and tracking back to help defensively was very pleasing. Wes was MotM, time and again breaking up Walsall attacks before they even began, signing of the summer by Dickov. When Furman comes back we are going to do very well away from home against passing team because their tacking, energy and reading of the game defensively are so good. Other things: Cisak - Much more composed than at Yeovil. Lee - same old. Mellor - surprised how calm and disciplined he was for his age, very promising ability too. Mvoto - much improved, so useful when defending a lead and balls are flying into our box. Clarke - impressive, with more pace would be at a higher level. Simpson - his own performance was alright but he gave the team much more balance than Morais did. He'll be another that's very good for away games. Taylor - goal was a bit lucky and didn't quite have the end product for his wing play but he was very positive, running at the full-back often in the 2nd half. Adeyemi - solid and will do a job. Reid - winning me over, work rate much improved and when he starts getting chances inside the box he will get goals. All-in-all it was just what you want from your team when playing away from home. I wouldn't be surprised to see us grinding out a lot of results like that over the season which will be vital in keeping us away from relegation, I'm slightly concerned that we didn't have the cutting edge that would've given us a comfortable win but if thats the price we pay for being solid defensively then I'm happy enough. This might be a problem against teams that we are expected to attack against but with players like Morais, Smith and Parker (when fit) we have options which could solve this. More of the same at Orient please lads!
