Diego_Sideburns
In tonight's rarely-wrong Chron, Dickov has distanced himself from the vacant Leicester job and says “I love my job, the fans, the players — everything about it.” Dickov ♥

rudemedic
But surely not as a serious contender? IMO he'd do a better job than Lee Clark, who has been linked to the level that Leicester have reportedly asked Hudds permission to speak to him

Failed with lots of money in League One ... so let's take that up and repeat it in the Championship!

I'm not sure I'd say he's failed. His record is very good and he looks to have Hudds moving very much in the right direction. And that's from someone who thinks he's a right cock. palmer1
Clark would be so ironic. Failed with lots of money in League One ... so let's take that up and repeat it in the Championship! 3 years in to a 5 year plan? play off finalists last year and 8 games? away from an unbeaten record of 40 odd games id take that level of failure at Latics any time please

I know they've a massive budget and deluded :censored:wit fans but you have to applaud that run…the worst thing is in the three games we've played them in under Dickov they've been pretty average and imo we have been the better side in both last season and arguably had the better of it this season... Team that bottles it when it matters. id take that level of failure at Latics any time please And so would all of us. I'd also take the investment he's been able to use too. He's underdelivered given the resources at his disposal.

singe
I agree, Clark has massively under delivered given his budget, BUT it shows how you need to give a manager time even with a massive budget Next year or the year after (if it is not to be this year and my head says not) then we willb e having a good seaso I think as it starts to gel. That said, PD ahs achieved even less, just done well on a limted budget. I am pleased to see PD basically recognise this, be resoundingly saying what he has. You watch for the announcement now!! He'd be mad though, 11 managers in 10 years. Edited October 31, 2011 by singe

lancy lad
same here , he had a 5 year plan when he took over Hudds and I think he's into his 3rd year and on course for promotion I would seriously be questioning this guy's capability after 3 years of his spending! Promotion come what May or it's curtains unless he jumps ship!
slystallone
I agree O4U, he's not done great given the money he has spent. here here, he's achieved nothing really - so big whoop they have a long unbeaten run; where's it got them? Still in L1 last time I checked.... The money he's been aloud to spend there is truly unbelievable; and when you pick the bones out of it - he should have got them promoted already; he hasn't and so he's failed. I sit really close to the away bench at BP and in all the games we've played Hudds in; I've witnessed nothing; absolutely nothing that suggests to me that Lee Clark has the ability to manage at the highest level. He spent all game this season asking Terry Mc & the Fitness coach "why's he done that?" "why's he passed to him?" etc, instead of coaching & instructing his players. Terry Mc made the calls & gave the briefings to all the subs they made during the game too by the way. I'll be a very interested viewer; watching him getting found out & failing should he manage to get the Leicester job......... Oh, I like PD & think he's doing a cracking job for us - but he's no-way a contenter for this job; out of his league just now IMO.

Interesting because Taggart doesn't seem to do much for us, it's usually Dux that gives the subs the briefings and shows the emotion from our bench. Not wishing for change as Dickov is doing ok with what he's got and seems to be learning from SOME of his mistakes last year, but I can see Dux being our next manager once Dickov's time is up….he's more than served his apprenticeship over the last 5 years... Lee Sinnott
I think more specifically he loves Paddy Harwood We'll see how much he actually loves us if a team does come in for him. It's easy to say it when he knows there's not a hope in hell of Leicester approaching him.

Whilst I'm yet to be convinced by Dux in terms of his managerial ability; I think that makes sense in principal. He most certainly knows the club inside & out, he's now been coaching / managing the reserves for a number of years now & he has become a lot more involved as you say on match days with the 1st team now too. The nagging thing for me is that when I've been to watch the reserves; he doesn't half dish out some pitch-side bollockings to the players - and I do wonder where you can go if you're constantly doing the Mr Angry role all the time? It becomes water of a ducks back for the players & so it becomes just pointless. As for Taggart; it's strange as his role on a match day seems to have vanished. from where I sit; you hardly hear him anymore; whereas last pre-season & early part of the actual season - he was the most vocal on the bench. Obviously I'm not party to what he does with the squad monday-friday in training but on an actual match-day - his role does appear to have lessened.
