KYLEOAFC
Don't think chesterfield will be CAT A next year....3699!! (350 from Chesterfield.) I am not sure this Category pricing strategy is working for us this year just seem to be getting the same number of people paying to get in every game? Not really attracting new fans nor helping the paying regulars with daft cat A games like this. We should be looking at a festive deal Hartlepool 26/12 Notts county 31/12 Colchester 7/12 All games for £40? I am a season ticket holder so makes no difference but I would like to see some inclination from the club in making it cheaper for folks. steveoafc
Disappointed with the attendance today ( from both clubs ) The £23 could have been a factor, but we've been scoring goals lately so i was hoping for a better home turnout. The away gathering was dismal.
Lookers_Carl
Think in hindsight it was a mistake to have this as a cat a over carlisle or trannies, but it is the first season we have adopted a categorised matches pricing structure. If the club decide to stick with it I am sure they will learn alot from this season?
Macca
Same can be said about the Cat C games. Are we seeing any extra numbers from those games? I'm not convinced.
opinions4u
The conclusion I'd draw from it is that £15, £18 or £23 makes very little difference to the number of Latics fans coming through the door. If the plan was to make more cash from away fans, it's probably working fine (today being an obvious exception).
Snookmeister
Maybe introducing a fourth "D" category might work. Keep the £23 A games for those guaranteed to bring large numbers e.g Wendies, Hudders etc and make the B games maybe £19-20 instead, pushing the £15 game down to the D category??..... Just a thought...... Of course the only thing guaranteed to to bring the numbers throughout the door is to keep bloody winning.....

I have agreed with this severala times today But I have now decided that is not 100% true. A decent league position helpe hugely Get in the play off spots should help massively. And a few games priced around £18 should help. Not having a pop at Newton, he has been spot on low key and we don't know how mcuh he has put in, I hope he focusses on the attendance aspect, decent little project. Zorrro
People have to realise we've spent a ridiculously long time at this level. A few wins and a smattering of goals isn't suddenly going to add 2000 on to the attendance. It's going to take a sustained period of success, ie. getting promoted and consolidation in the Championship for a season or two.
Frankly Mr Shankly
People have to realise we've spent a ridiculously long time at this level. A few wins and a smattering of goals isn't suddenly going to add 2000 on to the attendance. It's going to take a sustained period of success, ie. getting promoted and consolidation in the Championship for a season or two. Correctomundo mate. It's boring. Even for me it's fecking dull to see us face the likes of Colchester, Bournemouth, Leyton Orient, Brentford, Yeovil etcetera year on year on year on bastard year. For the casual fan it's a no-brainer - stay at home or go to the pub. Promotion. Or a big old lusty nostrils-full sniff of promotion is what gets these fans back. Forget your £2 per game, or yer silly categories, the don't do diddly squat. A good old run at the top 6 is what the stayaways want. A trip to Wembley for the Paintpot final will see thousands of the :censored:ers crawl out of the woodwork, just like at any club. I don't blame them really. Used to, but hell, they're right. It's only because I've got a touch more will and patience (that, and a lack of something else to do on a Saturday) why I continue to persist watching us play the same old faceless team from "Down South". Even that's waning as seasons go on, although I admit I've enjoyed what I've seen this season. So, quite simple really. Get promoted.
