SIMPSON - Today shows how much we're really missing him.

Recommended Posts

Robbie, please, pretty please "come back".

If you do I promise to be a really, really good boy in the new year.

Ian G.

PS Great result today by the boys, but we shouldn't even have allowed Notts to get one toe in front never mind two and M'Voto should have ripped Hughes a new ars#hol# today instead of pansying around.

I posted this on the match thread:

Simpson was in the sponsors suite before the game! He said its up to the powers that be as to if/when he signs for us but he doesnt know where they are at at the moment! He's made it clear to them that he wants to be here and he wants it sorted so he's availible for liverpool!

Also Wes could have probably played at a push today but he didnt want to risk anything, will be back for the chesterfield game.

Southend & Hartlepool showed how we missed him, today merely confirmed it .

Until Morais swung his free kick in , we had failed miserably to get quality delivery in the box ....and when it is as wet as that any ball can be dangerous . Poor stuff up until then ,apart from Scapuzzi's quality finish.

I don't think we get anywhere near as many balls as we should into the oppos penalty area. Even scuffed crosses can cause panic at this level. They often do to us.

Certainly missed Simpson's deliveries into the box though. The lad has a gifted left foot.

Southend, 'Pool & yesterday showed how much beter we were with Simpson in the side, and conversly how much poorer we are when he's not playing.

Its not just his set-pieces that we miss, but his composure on the ball & his link-up play. Neither Luca nor Taylor have been abke to be anywhere near as effective as Simpson 'in the hole'

Yesterday & 'Pool also showed IMO how much we rely on Wes being in the side too. Tom A just simply isnt a replacement; far from it in fact.

Both of them back inthe side, coupled with the welcome returns of Lee & M'Voto should see us firing a bit more
