pistonbroke
Can some one tell me when latics decided to become a long throw-in team, yes Nathan Clarke can get some distance but today he wasnt playing, Was i missing something today, Josh Parker taking long throw-ins as if he was some Rory De lap. He could only just reach the penalty area and all our players were at the back post except Maxi Moto who some how gave a foul away on every occasion, surely after the training ground move fails on the first 3 or 4 attempts you give up and take a short throw in , but Nope, latics continued with this Not so long throw-in. remember to do long throw-ins you need someone who can throw it a long way ! opinions4u
I wouldn't mind, but I can't remember us doing anything with Nathan Clarke's slightly more interesting efforts in previous games. Parker had a stinker all round today. Just one of those days for him. Edited January 14, 2012 by opinions4u
6703728901
Nathan Clarke has been taking long hrows for years for Town and I have never seen a goal or even a chance come from any single one of them
grim
I'm convinced Parker was only in the team today to take throw ins,the game today as a spectacle was very poor from both sides,nil-nil would have been right.
ChrisA
Crap. Had two in the first 10 minutes. Neither worked, knock it off. 80th minute and we're still doing it. Started the second half and got a throw down the left. Short throw and Taylor got a cross in which created a chance. Drop the idea, doesn't work. Parker was in the team ahead of Morais because he is better defensively - says a lot about our approach to the game.
slystallone
Crap. Had two in the first 10 minutes. Neither worked, knock it off. 80th minute and we're still doing it. Started the second half and got a throw down the left. Short throw and Taylor got a cross in which created a chance. Drop the idea, doesn't work. We had Nathan Clarke who has a decent long throw. We didn't use it properly. We have Josh Parker who also has a decent throw; we also don't use it properly. We aren't usng them properly as IMO we are setting them up wrong. The players aren't taking up the correct positions. The front man we're aiming for - it's been Kuqi; yesterday it was Big Jean, are stood too far back, and we have a group of players who stand too far back from the 1st target man. Even if we win the 1st ball (which we have raley done all seasn), once it's flicked on - we have no chance of winning the 2nd ball. It's pretty basic stuff, but we haven't made it work for us. It's hardly like we have a Rory Delap in our side who can 100% of the time reach a set spot - we need to mix it up. All the time yesterday we went long. We need to mix it up, vary it and look to add the element of variety to set piece throws. We aren't doing that, & haven't all season
