stargazer
Depressingly predictable loss & no goals scored yet again unless some late consolation .
Yard Dog
I really didn't think scoring goals would be a problem for us this season...how wrong. Edited February 18, 2012 by Yard Dog
oafc1955
Don't get me wrong here I really like Dickov but he has to take some blame for another poor season. Enthusiasm and energy are his main attributes but his tactics are bloody woeful!! His obsession with wingers and his insistence at playing people out of position is what's losing us games......today we had Brown, Morais, Parker, Simpson and Taylor all on the field at some stage and we still failed to get a supply of crosses into the box. Losing Black was a blow and the major turning point in the game ...he moves our most consistent performer to LB and brings on a not very mobile no nonsense CB to play RB and from then on in it was Lamb's to the slaughter. He should have put Taylor to LB and brought Winchester into midfield...what's the point of having him on the bench if you can't trust him to play in his natural position. This season is all but over and we should be able to keep out of the bottom 4 but money or no money Dickov has to change some personnel and tactics next season because if we continue to fill the team with under acheiving "flair" players we are going to find it more and more difficult to stay out of the relegation places! I agree mostly with what you say. Could it be possible that one of the reasons we're suffering is the lack of a tactically-minded, experienced assistant manager? Dickov has proven he can attract players for next to nothing and has a great rapport with his players. But his tactics are short of the mark, a senior figure alongside him I feel could really help with this. I wonder how long before Mike Newton is making tactical suggestions... oafcmetty
We're going to be inconsistent on the pitch as long as we're in turmoil off it. We desperately need some good news regarding the stand/stadium/investment/whatever to give us a bit of a lift and a solid foundation to build on. Otherwise the only way is down, down, down. So sad to see our club like this. Difficult to see where it's going to end. How long can we just keep scraping by, surviving in L1 season after season? L1 and L2 are too similar to expect we would fare much better if the worst happened and we went down.
oafcmetty
We'll end up like County at this rate. I'm starting to think it might not be the worst thing in the world for Corney to properly throw his toys out of the pram and say he's walking away. I've heard that others are interested in investing, but not while he's at the helm.
Guest
I'd not heard that. Depends on the level of investment as well. I remember being naiively chuffed when Chris Moore bought in. Nothing on the internet about how he got on in court, so presumably he got off. http://www.sfo.gov.uk/press-room/latest-press-releases/press-releases-2011/former-chairman-and-ceo-charged-following-collapse-of-torex-retail-plc.aspx

oafcmetty
Guess there's a difference between investing and taking full control
GlossopLatic
Guess there's a difference between investing and taking full control Which suggests they havent got real money because they can't afford to take full control. Once you have control of the club they could axe corney from the board easily. If they can't afford to buy the majority of the shares which won't be worth that much then they wont be able to afford to build a stadium or strengthen the team to a significant standard. Can't imagine it would be easy to remove Corney from the board if he doesn't sell his own shares in the club.
