UpTheLatics Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 In theory, Corney's hand will have been forced regarding ticket pricing. Fourth televised game in less than a year. They must love the view you get from Boundary Park. Quote
leeslover Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 £10 or £12 should still see a decent crowd with it being first up and people being able to get away from their loved ones for the first time in months. Quote

Ha right. The club's logic will be: it's on telly, so fewer will bother, so we better make money off those who do come. £20? Yeah why not. Quote
opinions4u Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 It was £18 v Carlisle last season. But they threw in extra time and a penalty shootout for free. Quote

You may be right. Given they are facing a windfall anyway it would be nice if they could maybe get the season rolling though, if we pulled off a result in front of a decent crowd it could be worth it several times over in future attendances. UpTheLatics Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 So first round league cup tv coverage is worth more than third round FA Cup? Weird. What - there is a difference in fees received for those two rounds? I thought Sky paid a set fee for a televised match? Well, for those outside of the EPL. Quote
Simpo Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 What - there is a difference in fees received for those two rounds? I thought Sky paid a set fee for a televised match? Well, for those outside of the EPL. Different fees for different competitions. League One game is something like £17,500 League Cup game, looks like £75,000 FA Cup is currently as follows: * First Round Proper – £67,500 * Second Round Proper – £72,000 * Third Round Proper – £144,000 * Fourth Round Proper – £144,000 * Fifth Round Proper – £247,500 * Sixth Round Proper – £247,500 Quote
opinions4u Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I'm sure I read about lower fees for live FA Cup coverage last season. But it would appear not. So my post above is wrong. http://nav.thefa.com/sitecore/content/TheFA/Home/TheFACup/FACompetitions/TheFACup/NewsAndFeatures/2011/3rp-tv-ties-071211 Quote
Twisbrogan Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 In view of this £75k figure, are we now allowed to class this as a money-spinning cup-run? Quote

Monty Burns Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Well done Latics. Hopefully they have learned from the McMongs game last year. Quote
