steveoafc
PD commented in his summary of the york game that we are again a quiet side. This has been levelled at us numerous times in recent seasons ( gregan apart ) Do we need to bring in a ' general ' possibly at CB to marshall our troops on the pitch or is this something furman should be taking on board ? A bit of organisation especially at set pieces wouldn't go amiss either.

Furman as captain should be vocal at all times but I believe that one of the defence should take on the organising at set pieces - after all they practice enough on the training ground so it should not be difficult to implement during a game. Cisak seems to be an organiser but I would also look to either Tarkowski or MVoto to take the initiative.

This is why I wasn't too disappointed when Reece Brown went to Coventry and not back to us, he's good enough ability-wise but if we are going to get a centre-back in it needs to be an experienced leader rather than a similar type of player to Mvoto or Tarky. Lee Sinnott
Its not going to be a quiet team if we sign the Grade A bell end that I've heard we are meant to be after.

RobOAFC
Been a quiet team for ages. Tarky's quite vocal but he lacks the experience to be fully effective at it. Definitely need someone else in meantime though!
BP1960
One for the fans; Who was the most vocal Latics player in your time watching the club ?
ChrisA
One for the fans; Who was the most vocal Latics player in your time watching the club ? Brian Kilcline as he chased a winger down past the Lookers paddock. Kilcline was screaming like a complete lunatic. Not sure how the winger felt but it scared the :censored: out of me. Serious note, Duxbury.

bluehobbit
we definatly need some more experienced players a couple of capable 29-32 years olds with some experince (would it be too much to ask at a high level?) would be nice, think we may struggle tho unless we get Byrne. Gregan shouting at all a sundry will always stick with me Edited July 24, 2012 by bluehobbit
slystallone
Milligan barked a fair bit Duxbury definately Both of the Shez brothers; but especially mini-Shez Gregan ........but I think the loudest voice I've heard on the pitch in all the time I've watched is a tad of a random one - Chris Day. Feck me he was loud; I remember on his league debut he was screaming & shouting from his penalty box, and his teammates heard him & understood from their positions in the opposition box. He was a poo 'Keeper for us granted; but he was seriously loud!

Usually because he let a pathetic goal in and wanted to blame someone else.
BP1960
In my 50 years I reckon Tarkowski will be the loudest of them all, especially when he becomes captain as is his destiny.

Not a former striker by any chance? Getting on a bit? A somewhat chequered history?
UpTheLatics
Young players naturally grow into commanders as they age. I don't think it's something you can do as a request from the manager, who happens to one of the mutes. We've all got our preferances and one of mine is seeing a manager that is willing to fire up his players. Martin Allen does it too much, but there are managers who strike the balance perfectly. Dickov isn't helped by Taggart who sits on his arse drinking coffee. Young lads need leadership and if we've only got Furman and Wesolowski to rally them up they will need more from the management. It's not a trait you simply do, I think. It's being comfortable and experienced.

slystallone
In my 50 years I reckon Tarkowski will be the loudest of them all, especially when he becomes captain as is his destiny. Tarky does seem a vocal sort - but the problem there is that he's so young & inexperienced; it almost leaves it null & void. If I was a fellow team-mate of say, Croft or Simpsons age; I really wouldn't take kindly an on-the-pitch bollocking / lecture from an 18/19 year old with less than 30 games to his name. But - and I too see it in Tarky, it's good that he does appear to want to be an organiser & shouter. With more games, and more experience; that should become more valid & prominent IMO.
