Tommy_Fent
We need 52 points to stay up (the highest points total a side has gone down on was 51) With 16 to play that'll equate to 1.5625 points needed per game or 8 wins and a draw and we'll definetly be safe Now where are those 8 wins going to come from? MK Dons Stevenage Pompey Preston Sheff Utd Tranmere Hartlepool Bournemouth Shrewsbury Swindon Colchester Carlisle Bury Crawley Leyton Orient Yeovil http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZZnhBQXRaI Edited February 5, 2013 by Tommy_Fent

AndyGortonsMatches
Really hard to say how many points we need. With Portsmouth and Hartlepool looking doomed, We're effectively in a 4 team mini league now, the top 2 stay up. That might take only 12 points, it might take 26.... Just need wins asap... Fervid
It's in our hands if we can't beat Hartlepool, Pompey and Colchester at home we don't deserve to stay up.

oafckev
I've just posted this in the other thread but it seems more fitting here... 16 Games: 5 against top 10 teams (Lets say aim for 1point a game on average) 4 against Mid-table 11th to 15th (1.5 points would get us 6 points) 7 crucial matches against the relegation fodder (2 points per game = 14 points) We're on 27 points now so if we aim and hit these targets we'd get a season total of 52 points which should see us safe. Sounds simple right

oafcshuck
The worrying thing from those two lists are that people have us winning 5 of the last 6. Dread to think how the table would look after 40 games.
oafc-latics
think our cup run to the FA Cup final will play a part in these games. whether that gets the players motivated or whether they concentrate on the cup i'm not sure?

Dread to think how the table would look after 40 games. I was just thinking the same. There's absolutely no way we'll win 5 out of the last 6 games. If we get to 40 games played and still require 15 points out of 18 to stay up we're :censored:ed. losesome
Your predictions are wildly optimistic! My Arse Town Hall Steps if we get those exact sequence results. Don't forget , New manager , some football tactics and a bit of hard work will get them. Before the end of March people will be saying - "If we had this manager from the start we would be in the top 2 now" You heard it here first !!!!! Hands on
Last year 44 points would have been enough. We have to rest our hopes on something like 45 or 46 being enough because I can't see us getting 52. I know there are only two teams above us with less than one point a game but that shows how deep a hole the failure to sack Dickov earlier has put us in. This is no longer in our hands as we have to rely on teams with better form stumbling now. We are looking for more than one point a game and I agree that it is going to come down to needing a very good April probably needing a win at Leyton Orient who will be relaxed in mid table security. Just shows what a lot have already said this season , same players different tactics and who knows. Getting those wins now not such a distant dream - One down and a few more to go ?? opinions4u
46 points might be enough this season. But I'd set any target higher than that.
