Oof. What a :censored:ing TUNE to finish on as well. In fact, as a triumvirate of closing songs that's pretty hard to beat.

Interpol - Evil

Suede - Animal Nitrate

Marion - Sleep

That's another 10mins I'd've spent furiously... no, best not.

I heard it shutdown

Just seen the same thing on Facebook via Carl Spiers.

Yes, unfortunately this is true. It's desperately bad news - by all accounts the brewery that own it pulled the rug from underneath Mike and Mark and are installing someone new on Monday.

I'm keen to keep Rebellion running as the first two were great fun and given time for word of mouth to build I'm sure will see a great night developing. A place in Oldham that puts [decent] gigs on, supports local bands and music should be cherished not shut down. I really, really hope the new owners of the Junction fail miserably now.

I'll keep you posted on any future REBELLION events, but at the moment file with "one of those nights that could've been". :(

You left the Junction mate?

I can'tn work out whether that's me or Takemeanywhere who you're asking. Anyway, it's yes to whoever it was asked of.

REBELLION is kinda on hold until another venue can be found. Unless another pub with a 2am licence that actively supports music and gigs pops up, it's probably going to be shelved forever sadly. Which mightn't be a bad thing all-round given I'll be a first-time-dad in a few months and frivolous Friday nights out on the tiles DJing until the small hours will probably be a thing of the past for me.

Jamie speak to Jeff Elliott by all accounts next season he will be running trips from the lowerhouse both home and away games. Maybe if he has a function room they could let you carry it on there.

Thanks Tom. I may do, but probably not until after my little 'un is born. I a little reticent too as I wanted to try and tap into the bands and their followers with the Junction putting gigs on as they were. I'm unsure whether the Lowerhouse would have a big enough reach as I'd be aiming to getting a decent 30 or 40 people in. I'd probably have to have a chat or something first really.

Good luck with the young un, never actually been in the lowerhouse so would not know.

Music fans. I'm now involved in a new night in Manchester now called LIGHT IT UP. It's a showcase of the hottest indiepop talent plus we DJ until 3am. Our first two gigs are stormers. Only £4 for each gig. Tremendous value.
