opinions4u
Well I assume I have. Playing rounders (long story) and as I accelerated like a gazelle from third base to fourth base it went three quarters of the way home. Momentum got me over the line. I can now only walk in short strides, driving is uncomfortable and I'm pretty pissed off. I assume resting the leg and ibuprofen / ice are the solution. Is there any point seeing the doctor? Or will it just fix itself over the next few weeks?
pukka
Strap it with a load of ice. Use it as little as possible (easier said than done). I strained mine and it took about a fortnight to sort out.

I'm sure rudemedic will be along shortly to correct me but rest it, take ibuprofen, elevate your leg and stick an ice pack on it for 10 mins every few hours for a couple of days. Is there any bruising? As it improves, try to do a few gentle stretches but nothing that causes any pain.
opinions4u
No bruising that I could see in the mirror. I won't post a picture for a second opinion though.

A doctor might give you some stronger pain-killers or anti-inflammatories but is not going to do much more than that for at least a week. If it gets worse in a few days though, I would be tempted to go see a doctor. Don't forget that you can take paracetamol as well as ibuprofen and they actually have a synergistic effect; so that by taking both you get an increased benefit compared with what would be expected. opinions4u
Cheers all. It's not overly painful until I try walking upstairs! Not sure sitting on a plane is something to look forward to this weekend!
rudemedic
Cheers all. It's not overly painful until I try walking upstairs! Not sure sitting on a plane is something to look forward to this weekend! Don't forget to move about the cabin and do those in-flight exercises as a bad leg increases the risk of a DVT (it is only from something like 2 in 10000 to 3 in 10000 but you don't want to be that 1). This is especially important if it's a long haul flight but I'd guess it's connected to your Paris trip. Oh and before I forget if you have any tubigrip around, that might be helpful too. Diego_Sideburns
Oh and before I forget if you have any tubigrip around, that might be helpful too. Ever since Mumps Bridge was demolished the sale of tubular bandages has decreased.
