PlayItLivo
What's the general etiquette if a groom wants his bestman/ groomsmen and close friends to wear matching suits, should he be asking them to pay for the suit hire? (£100) Is this not something that should be factored into his budget? Or do important guests regularly pay for their suit hire?
leeslover
The groom should pay. His choice.

24hoursfromtulsehill
I've always found matching suits to be among the sillier modern wedding conventions. When they had that hullabaloo about gay marriage, I seriously thought about forming a group against hetero marriage. Just sign the forms and stop :censored:ing about would be the manifesto. leeslover
I always enjoy telling the groom to remember the blowie on the morning after, as it might be a while until the next one comes along
Yard Dog
Both times I've been best man the groom has bought the suits and let me keep them.
rudemedic
The ushers and best man/men don't pay. I was impressed by the service from Moss Bros (hired) for my brothers wedding, especially as the people getting kitted out were spread across the country. Fairly certain my brothers outfit was free with the others, he went for a matching morning dress style but they do most styles.
garcon
Just sign the forms and stop :censored:ing about would be the manifesto. As opposed to the female equivalent, which is, "Just sign the forms and stop :censored:ing." I always enjoy telling the groom to remember the blowie on the morning after, as it might be a while until the next one comes along Is that a service you offer to any groom? alex_balls
Yeah its usual groom pays for at least best man, at my mates recently he didnt pay for the ushers though. I'd say it's a bit harsh asking someone to be part of your day and then make them pay for the pleasure.
jsslatic
Pawel Abbott is a professional footballer and can pay for his own suit hire.
