leeslover
Any ideas? I'm through with arguing the toss in the soho place and watching to a 70s dance soundtrack. Not fussed where.
lookersstandandy
Me neither Andy. The Sports Café on Haymarket always seems like the obvious choice, but like you, I really don't care.....!
24hoursfromtulsehill
Is it on the Tuesday? I might make it for the second half, so anywhere in Westminster for me (Soho included).
leeslover
Sports cafe as fallback. It is a dump though.
24hoursfromtulsehill
The Angel in Moorgate was terrific. Might have to make do with the bar in work. Could be a late one. It's our last day before Chrimbo as well.
Zorrro
It's our last day before Chrimbo as well. I'm sure you say these things just to :censored:ing annoy me.
Slash
I think the sports cafe has closed. It looked less appealing than usual when I past it last week.
JoshOWTB
What about No.1 Sports Bar on City Road near Liverpool street? Pretty :censored: place (a step up from the Sports Cafe though) but loads of screens and rooms downstairs if you wanted to reserve one of them. leeslover
Do we have any advance on the Liverpool st place? And who would be up for that? I can do that although more central would be better
peter_headen
I was just in the middle of sending a text around about this, then remembered this very forum. I'd be very up for the Liverpool Street place , can give them a shout and reserve the downstairs room?
peter_headen
Other options here , not sure of accuracy . http://www.matchpint.co.uk/bars-showing-mansfield-vs-oldham-130347 I fancy Liverpool Street ( the street name is an omen! ) but happy to go elsewhere too. leeslover
If they will confirm it's on we might as well go there
peter_headen
Just rang - they will be showing it at Liverpool Street . They didn't have any room in the downstairs bit that I could book , but it will be screened.
Slash
From a selfish point of view (as it is a minute from my work), the Geroge on Fleet St is showing the game. Decent boozer, with good choice of ales.

peter_headen
Happy to go down to fleet street too....will ring and double check they are showing it.

peter_headen
"Join us for our pub quiz with Nigel every Tuesday at 7.30pm. Top prize £30 bar tab." Also we can win some jars.
24hoursfromtulsehill
Fleet Street better for me. Can't promise 7.30 but I'll give it a go. Enter the quiz, write the questions down when you don't know the answers, and I'll fill in the gaps on arrival. Plus it might be a good time to collect brick cash. £5 apiece. Slash
I have just been in to the George and the guy behind the bar is only working till 5pm, so couldnt confirm what football they were showing. He didn't seem the brightest.
peter_headen
The nice lady on the phone did say they will def be showing it.

leeslover
Simple, if they don't have it on we burn the pub down. I can be there for 6 if not earlier

lookersstandandy
Hmmm. Anyone in there? Looks more geared up for the quiz than it does to show football.
