sjk2008 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) A bit of a weird scenario unfolding this weekend..... The top 14 play each other and the bottom 10 play each other. Oldham Athletic v Colchester United Tranmere v Gillingham Notts County v Bristol City Crewe Alexandra v Shrewsbury Town Stevenage v Sheffield United I dont think this would have happened all that often before! 3pts on Saturday would pull us even further away from plenty of teams down at the bottom. On the flipside, a Colchester win and we could be right in the :censored: again. The teams right above us - Crawley away at Leyton Orient, Carlisle away at Walsall and Shrews away at Crewe gives us the chance to climb to 13th. A good performance and a good win would do very, very nicely. ----------------- Oxley -------------------- Lanzoni - Tarky - Kusunga - Grounds ------------ Smith - Rodgers ----------- Petrasso ------------------- Schmeltz --------- Rooney - Philliskirk --------- Oldham 3-1 Colchester Edited December 18, 2013 by sjk2008 Quote
Aaron Howarth Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) 2-0 Oldham I reckon Edited December 18, 2013 by Aaron Howarth Quote
alex_balls Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Under estimate Col U all you want, fact of the matter is, we just don't beat them, plus we always alex balls it up when more fans turn up. Just looked and in the last 16 games against Col U, our record is W2 D9 L5. Safe to say it has 1-1 all over it. Quote
b0ndl1ne Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Oxley Kusunga Tarky Grounds Mellor Winchester Rodgers Smith Petrasso Philliskirk Rooney No danger. Quote
davegtt Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Safe to say it has 1-1 all over it. 0-0 just dont see either of us scoring this weekend. Its certainly going on my accumulator Quote
alex_balls Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 0-0 just dont see either of us scoring this weekend. Its certainly going on my accumulator I hope you're wrong, a 0-0 will be a drag...... I usually bet on BTTS, it's come in 19/28 times in all competitions this season. Quote
Aaron Howarth Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) not had a 0-0 in 64 games, won't happen. Can see a draw though to be honest, tend to be :censored:e games as well. Edited December 18, 2013 by Aaron Howarth Quote
davegtt Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 64? Thought it was 83 - its got to come to an end at some point and Colchester is never going to be a glam game. Sticking with 0-0 Quote
Takemeanywhere Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 The ticket voucher incentive means there should be a decent crowd in and we all know how well we do in front of a decent crowd... Quote

SavageTheBeast Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Since bury last away game of the season 2010/11 Quote
Aaron Howarth Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Could be 83 - I heard a couple chaps on the coach saying it was 63 just after brentford on saturday. might be a goal fest 4-4 Quote

jsslatic Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Last time we did a voucher game it resulted in one of the best performances of the season as we dispatched Franchise. The less said about the pre-Liverpool voucher game vs Brentford the better. Quote
b0ndl1ne Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Colchester ship goals for fun, not a chance this will be 0-0 Quote
Markspark92 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 They conceded 4 against Notts County on weekend without reply I'm pretty confident well pick up all 3 points, can see them adopting the bully boy tactics like Mansfield and Brentford though Quote

We reverted to four at the back at 2-1. I just think we need to be a rad more adventurous with the 4-4-2. Wingers getting on the end of crosses. Full backs overlapping. Central midfielder arriving on the 18 yard line. Quote

I'm pleased for LJ. He showed some balls to do this and it worked. It would have been very easy to stick with 4 at the back and it have no effect. By sticking 3 at the back he put himself in the firing line, and no doubt that rigsby would have lead the line, but it worked and now were on our way to anfield again Quote
PlayItLivo Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Remember playing them a few years ago when they fielded a team of basketball players....well, they were all about 6'5ft tall, fast and ridiculously strong. We got dicked anyway. And several years before that where Butcher smashed in a last minute winner in Ronnie's final season Quote

the_mighty_bosh Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 It won't be easy, but it's a good game to have at this time because: We're at home. We've lost once in the last 11 in all comps and that was undeserved. They've only won twice in 3 months. They've just lost 4-0 at home to Notts County. They won away on the 1st day of the season but they haven't won away since. We might not take advantage (Latics usually don't) but we couldn't ask for a better team to play imo. Quote
the_mighty_bosh Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 My team would be: Oxley Lanzoni Kusunga Tarky Grounds Petrasso Winchester Smith Philliskirk Rooney JCH It's not an easy team to call because Tarky and Grounds have looked very good at centre back, but Grounds can play left back and those are the four defenders who are in the best form. Winchester has earned a start after his last two sub appearances plus he and Smith will certainly keep possession and be tidy in the midfield, but if it is too lightweight then we should look to bring on Mellor to put in there. Rodgers is an option but behind Winchester on current form. The other four all add something different going forward and as we should be taking the game to them we should use as much firepower as possible. If Petrasso and Philliskirk cutting inside is too narrow then they could switch flanks but Petrasso certainly looked very good cutting inside on Tuesday. Quote
HarryBosch Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 He might go three at the back after it did the trick on Tuesday Oxley Lanzoni Tarkowski Grounds Winchester Smith Rodgers Mellor Petrasso Rooney Philliskirk Quote
