I looked before posting and couldn't find them on there. When did they get put on?

And did any leaflets get handed out with STs? I didn't get one.

Also, have the Trust been given ST holders details by the club? And if so, what details have been passed on?

The club assured us letters (which were printed and delivered by Trust partners) would be handed out with all tickets - I know from 12 people I know (plus my own) were all given letters. More than enough letters were provided to the club, so giving them the benefit of the doubt I'd put missed ones down to an oversight on their part.

I'll see about getting the letter posted onto the Trust site so you can see you own version.

No, we have yet to receive data from the club so cannot give you any details on that.

I'll assume mine was torn into rectangles and flushed down a toilet in Saddleworth then

Hiya lookers, user member harrybosch is saying he did not get the st letter either. I have asked him to pm me his email address so if you or one of the committee has a copy we could get it to him.

Or once it's uploaded on the web, I'll redirect him to the page

Thanks

If the trust doesn't have ST holders details from the club, how can people have become members?

The trust launched this idea, but doesn't seem to know how to deliver. What exactly is the problem?

How many members does the club actually have, and how is the trust arriving at that number?

There's no problem at all real, simply a case of the club not yet delivering the required info - not a lot we can do about that.

The membership of the Trust isn't dependant on physically having this data communication/administration is.

If you wish to find out for yourself you are always welcome at another meeting.

As for your final question - We'll be able to confirm that once we have the data and have had chance to update with opt-outs etc

Lookers, when i asked rick how many members I got told - can't tell you.

When I asked barry he said "no one has resigned, we've got 700" (let's be honest, that wasn't 700 real members is it - not actual paying members?)

Now, when I've asked you, you've said "we don't know until we get the data"

3 evasions.

So, can you tell me - how many members does the trust actually have - that's people whose names they have received, saying they want to be part of it, or people who are actually paying. Right now, at this moment in time.

And why haven't the club sent the data? Is it a data protection issue? The club did not get permission to pass data on to the trust on ST applications.

Any why do people need to be at a meeting? If you're going to have 2000+ members, you need a system that allows them all access and opprtunity to have a say. How are you going to arrange voting?

Or will it be 12 people behind closed doors?

As LL so eloquently (kind of) put it, I (and by the sounds of it you and everyone else) would rather deal in facts.

I'm not sure it's evasion in my case (can't speak for those other two) as evasion would imply that I'm deliberately avoiding telling you something I know - and as I've said I'd rather deal in facts and when we can administer the data I'll be happy to give you this figure - it should, by the way,be a figure readily available to all.

I could say 700 but you leap on that, I could say 1648 but you'd leap on that - I think it's better for everyone if we use the actuals.

To put it into context, I and a couple of others joined the Trust board at the April meeting as, like you, we had many questions. We appreciated that the handful of good folk at the Trust needed help and even though time isn't a commodity we have, we were prepared to jump in.

Our number 1 aim as a new collective was to get things like this cleaned up and give everyone a clear starting point. It is a really good thing for all us fans that membership of the Trust has been made a benefit for season ticket holders, it will mean that come the elections in April there can be a well administered process which is transparent and if LL wishes to bring 20 homeless people in with the promise of cider we can let them enjoy the party - but not count their votes (unless they have become members by then of course).

I'm pretty sure that's the outcome everyone watching wants.

To answer some of your other statements, the only reason the data hasn't arrived is workloads of the club staff - nothing more.

We were expecting this in August, but to be fair to them it's a busy time (we've chased it though). In the meantime we've concentrated efforts on playershare whilst we wait.

As some of us work with data protection laws every day we are fully aware of the laws and what can/can't be done.

As you well know real there is no requirement for you to be at a meeting to ask questions - you know this as when you've asked questions one of us has asked this at the meeting on your behalf - personally I've done this at 2 meetings for you and supplied you with an answer.

My invite to attend the meeting was merely that, an invite - it'd be good to see more fans there so we can have a chat, nothing more - I like talking about our club and finding out how best I can change things to make sure we have a strong Trust that can have some big aims.

If it leaves time to join LL and his 20 cider drinking mates afterwards then even better, sounds like he's buying anyway.

As always I'll be in the Chaddy End on Saturday if you or anyone wants a chat about anything Trust related and happy to give you all the info I am able.

"Is it ever acceptable to disclose personal data to other organisations for them to use for their own purposes?

It depends. You may be approached by a third party seeking personal data about one of your employees or customers. For example, the police may want information in connection with an investigation, or an individual may want information to pursue legal action. In such cases, you may choose to disclose the information if the conditions of a relevant exemption are satisfied.

Unless one of these specific exemptions applies, individuals should generally be able to choose whether or not their personal data is disclosed to another organisation. If your intention to disclose information in this way was not made absolutely clear at the outset, at a time when the individual had the option not to proceed in their business relationship with you, then you will usually have to get the individual’s consent before making such disclosures."

I'm not sure how those of you who work with data protection can get past this requirement.

The club did not get advance consent to share the data.

And I'll take it that we have no-one who actually knows how many members there are?

Real, as I have said on more than one occasion already I would be more than happy to talk you through the working basis of the DPA, principles, definitions of sensitive/non sensitive data etc etc - it's not something that is appropriate for this forum.

I have already intimated in my previous answer that I personally (and you it seems) would rather deal in facts on membership numbers.

This Fact is not "confirmed" until we receive the relevant information as already outlined.

The figure quoted at the AGM doesn't seem to satisfy you (or me) yet neither, it seems, will any figure I give you without this info first being processed - those of us committed to getting the Trust back on track are as frustrated as it seems you are by this delay to our plans as, in the nicest way, the membership number question should be a simple number - no more no less.

We are, however, doing all we can at our end on this and a huge amount more in the time we've volunteered alongside our family commitments, running businesses and yes trying to spend sometime watching and enjoying the current football on show from the team.

It's frustrating for us all real, but we are not a business that has access to all data at the touch of a button at the moment. Oh how I loved that it was

You've been at a trust meeting, they are advertised, there are message tweeted, uploaded, facebooked, official site etc but how many fans actually attend? Or ask questions in advance?

The July one not one fan attended the open session or even tweeted in as an option to post live questions.

Regardless of how many are now automatically are members I curious to know how many actually give a damn? Or is the trust just needed in time of dire need.

Yes giving a damn should be a priority for all fans, the trust are volunteers on limited resources and manpower it's been highlighted communication has not been good but it's small steps to get it right, a new website that is updated regularly, a generic article in the programme has been discussed to. Representatives in all stands. Even these take time and someone's time to do it.

I'm sure the membership numbers have been asked for and it's been unfortunate that the August meeting was cancelled or it could have been pushed for then. There should be a meeting planned very soon and I'm sure it will be put on the agenda to get his for you. Can you please give us a little time as we have to work with the club to get the figures together.

Sorry for the delay and please look out for the trust meeting and if you can't attend, look out for the link to post live questions

how many members does the trust have? It shouldbe simple - there are records of those who were members before the ST holder thing - that is the answer.

why can't data protection issues be discussed here? we are talking about people's data. Surely this is an ideal place to be open and honest about what's being done - where more people can read it than can hear it through a chat in the chaddy end?

my stance has always been that unless the trust can fully engage on-line, there is no way it can claim to represent 2000+ fans.

That's why i don't attaned meetings, that's why i post questions through this site / facebook.

Owtb is one method of communication but is it a right one?

The trust are trying to centralise the communication methods and who is responsible for checking all methods as we don't want to miss important questions like yours Real. Hence the revamping of the trust oldham website.

There are various contact methods out there and we have to consider all users, those that surf, those that don't. We love to have a presence in each stand even the new one too, we have ideas on a couple of events too. Generic programme page shouldn't be too far off. We are not all experts and we have asked for help but I don't see many banging down the doors to do it either.

It's a thankless task, not everyone is going to be happy and we aren't going to get it right first time, it's small baby steps this season, getting it right too is paramount and I'm not saying it's going to be perfect but we need time. We work with the club and sometimes you have to admit even as a fan, the wheels turn slow there too.

If by the end if the season you don't think the mountain has shifted that much, then please look out for the AGM meeting and vote for change.

May be it's my misconception, but I feel most fans simply just want a peaceful life and show their support on match days, which is the best thing we can ask for. Other things like trust, playershare, we need to plant the seed and let it grow, get the fans involved.

How?....well I'm not marketing/media/IT specialist. I work in an office and print off stuff. Hand them out, stick them up, arrange the odd meetings etc.

You have a valid question and it will be answered as soon as the trust receives the information and I know that C.Hill as well as Lookers are working on Trust marketing stuff that should be rolled out soon.

I am sure we will confirm the ST/trust membership numbers as soon as we can

Thanks for your patience
