Barry Owen

Recommended Posts

Thanks Tracey .... not good fell 1 am yesterday head butted a cabinet with Alzheimer's and Cancer lots of drugs. Talking utter nonsense and thinks he is in Wales and 1913 so well suited for the board at BP. What you think? Last sensible conversation we had was "Have latics signed that lad they should do. "

He's got our best ever league finish to look forward to the lucky so and so!

:)

Hope he's ok

The Club OS said “Mr Owen will remain as a Board Director of the company until a new representative of the Trust is appointed”.

The rarely-wrong Chron says “He will remain on the board until a suitable replacement can be found”.

Perhaps the Chron thinks the Club has to decide whether the new representative appointed by the Trust is suitable.

  • 2 weeks later...

Barry's staying on the Board now. Which is not what was indicated in the previous statement.

Think we all knew that was coming. Now he can continue doing what he's been doing for years, without the disingenuous Trust Chairman tag.

I've thought for years that the Trust meant little more to Barry than the leg up he needed to get to the Boardroom level of football. I'm certainly no less convinced now.

So he has achieved what he ultimately wanted ,
Can't for the life of my see what he can possibly offer the football club , fans or anything else connected to the club as a director ,

unless it is match day traffic he is directing.

Makes the club look a bigger shambles than it already is !!!!

Well, the previous statement lasted 12 days!

"Following the announcement that Barry Owen has resigned as Chair of Trust Oldham, Oldham Athletic (2004) AFC Limited can confirm that Mr Owen will remain as a Board Director of the company until a new representative of the Trust is appointed."
