Nile Ranger

To be falsely accused of rape must be a traumatic event in any persons life. (To be convicted when no accusation was made even worse.) The character assessment that LJ will be making will be about how a player will behave in the future and if that player will fit into his team. His judgement has been very good so far and if Ranger is signed we have to give LJ and Ranger our full support.

No we wouldn't.

My issue isn't just with the rape allegation though he has a list of 'naughtiness' a mile long. From a quick google search

There is also a video on youtube of him punching a woman three times.

Goals aren't even that much of an issue for us, we've got the worst defence in the top half by far, hopefully that can be changed now Rachubka has been dropped.

Don't particularly want to change topic but with Rachubka in goal our defensive record is in line with most of the top half, we can do better (hopefully in Kean we have done) but Kenny is much more of a reason for the goals against column being what it is.

Anyway back on topic, it's usually hard to judge if a player is worth a gamble, but considering that Ranger has gone AWOL for matches on multiple occasions and is very likely to be in trouble with the law in one way or another, the decision should be easy. Avoid like the plague.

A home from the unloved is a far cry from trying to sign every player that has issues.

That said I doubt this went fast first base.

Again, as with Ched Evans, I can't understand getting as far as face to face meetings, any basic character assessment would say put the file in the bin.

We're going to be linked with everyone like this now.

Editor "Got a story on [insert troublesome footballer]?"

Journo "Erm, not really. Shall we just say Oldham want him, they're pretty controversial."

Editor "Yeah, that sounds like decent clickbait"

^This

I don't mind the term "home for the unloved" if it refers to signing Footballers with a point to prove based purely on their ability. I'm not interested in players with off-field issues who have time and again let themselves down.

Some people have forgotten what it means to be a supporter! Talk about 'main stand moaners' - what we have here are the owtd moaners. You should support LJ he is the best chance we have had for years. His decision was not to sign Ched and now he has decided not to sign Ranger and I support his decisions. I'm a supporter and not a moaner.
