MAC0AFC
Lee Johnson will be nowhere near the top of the managers list for this one... yes I know they're only sheff united, but they'll be able to pull in the likes of Adkins. Even if Johnson had stayed and not got the Barnsley job, he'd have no chance of this one.
HarryBosch
Think if Johnson would have waited till the end of the season I wouldn't have been as bothered if he left especially to a club like sheff u I wonder where we'd have needed to finish for them to have given it him? Diego_Sideburns
My tells me 'Judas' has been in Dundalk looking at midfielder Daryl Horgan, the League of Ireland Premier Division's top scorer. http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=58523
Scapegoat
I wonder that if LJ had stayed and got Latics into the Play-offs (which given the end of season results and gap to 6th was plausible) he might have been in with a shout of the Blades job. Still think they may want a more experienced manager, but I think that this opportunity highlights the fact that Lee took a rather small career step with the Tykes and if he had backed himself and his squad here more could have gotten better rewards in the long term. Not sure that if LJ had got us to the play-offs, lost and then ditched us for another Play-off failure fans would be any less annoyed at his departure. 4froale
I always signed that Daryl Horgan on Football Manager 2014, could pick him up for about £75k and he used to go on to be a decent championship player.
deyres42
I'd rather have Sharon Horgan. Or Daryl Morgan (NSFW)

Hypotherical but he would have very much been on the short list (no pun intended) Certainly if he pushed for it he would have been a serious contender. He would have easily got the same rap had he taken us to 6th failed and then went to the team who were fifth and failed, and then come back to Boundary park with his new team in August. People will get over this eventually (some of us already have) although had he gone to a championship club and kept them up he wouldn't be subject to a hostile return so people would have given had time to get over it. deyres42
I've got a feeling that Johnson's methods might not translate as well at a 'higher' level but time will tell on that. The proper Mark Roberts has gone to Cambridge, Nicky Adams from Bury to Northampton.

Judas wouldnt have got the same rap if he joined Sheff Utd, even if they had been relegated to the 4th division. Clearly they are still a bigger club! yarddog73
Did anybody see the Ultimate League published this week? Its a league calculated on league positions alone over the last 50 years, it has us in 39 position, Barnsley are actually 45 so on the face of it they havent fared much better than us and historically despite their budget have acheived similar success. Try looking at the last 20 years it will tell you they are a bigger club than us. But nethertheless as Barnsley as a town is smaller than Oldham and factor in the United City thing then it's no surprise to see us roughly around the same place historically. It could swing the other way in 5 years and we could be taking players and managers off them.
