SavageTheBeast 93
Frankie Bunn wouldn't be a bad appointment way better than Rick Holden at least he's been in the game
NewBlue 1,232
Frankie Bunn also linked in paper this morning alongside linking Joel Coleman to Huddersfield (by the same journalist that did the Sheridan links to Bolton/Leeds) In the Mirror by that Alan Nixon? Going for legends is a bit of a ploy to get fans back on side. That being said, after how it worked with Sheridan, I think it's a legitimate path to take, even though I can't see fans being able to get behind a manager in the same way again. Scapegoat 313
With no players at the moment, it would make a newbie higher risk than normal - if they fail you are lumbered with their team and a restricted loan system. Hard to be fussed at the moment - feels as though we are a transient temporary club with managers and players moving in and on. A mate was drinking with Shez yesterday pre the Play-Offs and when I texted to ask why he had left - Money was the reply.
deyres42 2,202
Bunn, maybe with Tony Carss or Mark Lillis. Yeah, I could get behind that.

palmer1 1,677
Was part of Ritchie's Barnsley team that got promoted from this :censored:hole division, albeit as a physio he was very vocal on their bench as they dicked us 3-0 at home.. If we are going to appoint a rookie I'd be more behind him than anyone and he is far more experienced than Darren Kelly He was assistant manager & Physio. Surely Corney can get behind a concept where he can appoint 1 man for 2 jobs. Edited May 29, 2016 by palmer1

Latics_Fanatic 507
The fact that Warren Feeney is the favourite proves how bollocks those markets are... or how :censored: his season will be with Feeney in charge...

Markspark92 69
Someone who's not been mentioned who might want to give it a go to get back into management Neil Lennon, worked with nothing at Bolton and wasent being paid for a while there, easy way back in for him and somewhere to rebuild his reputation

Horrible and clueless. Daren Kelly could win the SPL as Celtic manager. At Bolton he undoubtedly had massive problems and showed no inkling that he had anything approaching a solution. mcfluff1985 1,260
Why do people think Holden would be a good appointment??? People talk about Darren Kelly's lack of contacts, :censored:ing hell. Club legend yes, future manager, please God no. Same with Curtis Woodhouse. Yes he may have loads of passion and desire but what contacts will he have. It didn't work with sheridan keeping us up because he was a club legend it was because he's an experienced manager at this level.

sjk2008 772
If it's Holden then it shows how desperate we are.
OldHallam 362
Why do people take any notice of betting as a very small market and used as click bait by the firms. Even a £5 bet affects the odds. Holden is an ex player, never a proper manager, experienced Physio NO THANK YOU. Simply want no guff from the board this time about due diligence, meetings in Costas, lots of quality applications then appoint some power point savy no mark with a CV writer in background. Is it really asking too much to do it professionally .... we all know that answer. Budget low so shuts off many applicants. Unless Scholes and his pals suddenly think its worth a laugh never going to happen is it. When likes of Curtis Woodhouse suddenly look a possibility you think well he fits our profile. ‘One time, when I was in the academy under Russell Slade, I stole the minibus and tried to run over these Irish kids. I was cleaning the bus and they were giving me stick. I said, “F*** off or I’ll run you over”. They didn’t so I drove after them but hit some advertising boards instead. It was in front of the executive suite. But if you’re good you don’t get sacked. Six months later I was in the first team.’ That is when the drinking and partying took off. ‘I was never an alcoholic but by the time I got to Birmingham, football was a job and partying was more fun. By 21, I was drinking seven days a week. Surely Sheridan proves the "legend" bollocks is dead as managers go. Do we really want Bunn or Holden to fail and go the same way. Blitz et al need to wake up and recognise without doing it right they will never get the return they hope for. doing it right means a team worth watching. The only bets worth value are relegation, Coleman off before January end and Kelly before season to cash in as a certainty in January. Sad!!!!!
NewBlue 1,232
For all those who want Scholes, given his favourite player was Frankie Bunn maybe he'd relish the chance to work under a hero!
GravityGrave 138
O'driscoll for me . Realistic , experienced , known for attractive style of play and will have plenty of contacts and knowledge of players at this level .
bigfatjoe1 603
Frankie would be a bit of a gamble in that he hasn't managed, but he has been a pretty successful coach at every level. He'd be a good fit in terms of bringing young players through. He'd also be very popular. I love the bloke. Great centre forward for us. I think it would be a wise choice to lift the current frustration. What's there not to love? But he'll still need to be given some extra investment. Altogether, "frankie frankie frankie frankie frankie frankie frankie frankie frankie bunn.'
