Hometownclub
You are winning the contest for how many times you can make the same point. Beating Yarddog73 to that title takes some doing. Just telling it as it is.
stevesidg
Corney will do what he always does, dither - change his mind then go for the cheap option. Then tell us he was blown away by the application of the North Korean under 6s blind third XI coach. UEFA Pro License innit? It was between him and the FIFA 15 Xbox losing quarter finalist It was the special hair cut that decided it
Stevie_J
Don't think he did that with Sheridan on either occasion or with others on the (too) long list of managers we've had . Sometimes yes , always no That was different in that it was in the context of crisis and what looked like near-certain relegation. Something had to happen immediately. Both times? And other appointments were hardly of the dithering nature. Didn't turn out well but not characterised by the process described . His first appointment was ten years ago - we've had :censored:loads of managers since then. There was a lot of fannying about before the appointments of Penney, Dickov, Johnson, Holden and Kelly. Not so with Dunn though - that was beautifully and professionally thought out well in advance.

HarryBosch
Feeney was crap for us as a player and a bit of a :censored: on Twitter after he left.... While he;d be an unpopular choice, none of that means he'll be a crap manager for us though..... You never know....

Twisbrogan
Feeney was crap for us as a player and a bit of a :censored: on Twitter after he left.... While he;d be an unpopular choice, none of that means he'll be a crap manager for us though..... You never know.... We're obviously going cheap which rules out a large number of talented managers but I'd rather go cheap with a bit of potential to be unhinged (like Holden & Woodhouse) for giggles rather than cheap and twatty where you end up wanting him to fail over the course of several depressing weekends. RobOAFC
Accrington squad is breaking up, go and get Coleman. Depends whether he's changed since his time at Dale. Apparently turned up late for training etc several times due to playing golf or something and constant bust-up with players according to some Dale fans who know/knew people inside the club. HarryBosch
I didn't realise Feeney managed Linfield for 62 games in addition to his 23 at Newport. Not a good level but he's not as inexperienced as you first think....
the_mighty_bosh
"And all signs point towards the ideal candidate being a figure who, like Sheridan, has some knowledge of the club's inner workings. It is also understood to be unlikely that Athletic will again appoint someone with no previous relevant experience." If true that certainly narrows down the options. Makes me feel more convinced by the board's thinking than previously. Feeney would be underwhelming though. His Newport team looked pretty average when I saw them at Exeter, played 4-4-2 with Conor Wilkinson and Scott Boden looking a handful but the rest of the team were low on quality. Stagger Lee
Feeney - hell no he has NFI where the corridor of uncertainty is - rather Barry Owen manage us
deyres42
If our job is so impossible as Sheridan says then you'd have thought he'd be telling his mate to stay put at Newport...

Not a good level but he's not as inexperienced as you first think.... At one of the bigger clubs in NI but didn't win anything and complaints of dull, defensive football. Surely he'd only get appointed if the board really hate us (or still owe him money)
yarddog73
Think Feeney would be the final straw for some, somehow I feel the board will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to gain any respite.
