BP1960 3,137
And in the Chron, a similar headline to the one on the eve of the Evans bombshell....... Negotiations with the club's chosen man continued over the weekend and club officials are confident that an appointment is close. The club remain confident they will land Shefki Kuqi as the touchline presence for the coming campaign, with the experienced figure of Sean O'Driscoll in the background as director of football. Nailed on init!! Or, don't worry, although we are now at plan D, plan Z is in place. Edited July 1, 2016 by BP1960

oafc1955 1,110
Latest? Yes he says Kuqi is not quite certain though. Keeping us guessing for sure! Slow progress at #oafc still. O'Driscoll on track but not quite confirmed as it stands. Kuqi being considered, but not a sure thing yet. ...and on Kelly On Liam Kelly, a deal has been agreed with Leyton Orient and #oafc are believed to be waiting to hear from that club to finalise it. diggleblue 7
I think we should all stop waiting and go down sheepfoot lane to sort the so called directors out because they're sorting nothing out. We demand answers.

laticdickovarmy 305
Utter mess I don't think Corney realises just how damaging this is going to be for the season Players (if they get any in) will all be unfit, lose the 1st 5 games blame and sack the inexperienced manager (Kuqi has not experience in England) then back to square one Any price on Latics to go down should be bet right now
deyres42 2,202
Happy to hear Kuqi could be a non starter, think he would have been a horror show.

BP1960 3,137
Wonder if the issue is that SoD doesn't want to be manager but also doesn't want Kuqi to be coaching the team & players it'll be his job to piece together? If Kuqi and SoD did finally meet, maybe they had different ideas on the game? I'm thinking now this influx of players maybe via an agent no matter who the manager will be. It's looking more and more like TP may be asked to step in temporarily, with assurances his youth team job will still be there after a permanent manager is finally appointed. Stevie_J 3,718
I'm looking forward to the interview with Barry, when we do eventually appoint someone, where he says the new manager was the standout candidate from the process and our number one target.
