A police dog that worked with the Columbus Police Department until earlier this year died on Monday, the department says. Rex worked with Officer Chad Lehman from 2008 until February 2016, assisting in nearly 250 arrests. After being retired, he lived with Lehman. "He was known as the dog who tried to open car doors due to his being an aggressive alert dog," Lehman said in an emailed statement.
