Jesus. 2016 claims another. This year's comp has been like shooting fish in a barrel. Next year's will be impossible because there's hardly anyone left alive.

Nah, the barrell is stocked more and more each day. As mass media spread the pool of people that other people knew about has grown massively, we're set for this for decades. Won't be long before 'Cat bin lady' is a regular on people's lists.

R.I.P Rex, you did a fine job.

A police dog that worked with the Columbus Police Department until earlier this year died on Monday, the department says.

Rex worked with Officer Chad Lehman from 2008 until February 2016, assisting in nearly 250 arrests. After being retired, he lived with Lehman.

"He was known as the dog who tried to open car doors due to his being an aggressive alert dog," Lehman said in an emailed statement. "Rex would bite the door handle when he detected illegal narcotic odors."

Think there is a risk of FMS only coming third, Stevie J and I both got 136 points for Dr Kate Granger. StevieJ picked up a few points elsewhere and I've always been there or thereabouts with FMS prior to Dr Granger.

Dr. Kate Granger? False points in my eyes, stretching the credibility of the term celebrity.

So someone whose death was front page news isn't a celebrity? Think the original rule was if they have a wiki page they count.

Seems a bit weird to be voicing objections nearly two years after her original posting too.

The term celebrity has too many perimeters, if I havent heard of them then they can't be a celebrity. It isn't an objection by the way, just my point of view.
