steveoafc Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) Makes sense utilising a facility that is already up and running, will bring in a small amount of cash too. Edited January 18, 2016 by steveoafc
NewBlue Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Will I receive a bacon butty queuing up in my tent?
SavageTheBeast Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Frizzell bar shut the main stand moaners won't be happy
Diego_Sideburns Posted January 18, 2016 Author Posted January 18, 2016 Frizzell bar shut the main stand moaners won't be happy Only shut after the game.
MAC0AFC Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Another good idea from the club. Glad I'm seated when I first read this.
deyres42 Posted January 18, 2016 Posted January 18, 2016 Ah, but which of the lunchtime games will be shown? We need a statement.
Diego_Sideburns Posted January 21, 2016 Author Posted January 21, 2016 In the rarely-wrong Chron, Matt Chambers misleads readers by saying that Saturday's bar for 80/free mini pie for 50 is when Athletic opens its new north stand business suite to the general public. http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/10/oldham-athletic-news/96284/free-pies-for-latics-fanatics It states clearly on the OS that the suite is between the Main Stand and ZenOffice Stand, and access is from the entrance on Furtherwood Road at the end of the Main Stand.
bowl Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I went in before the game, had a decent pint for £2.50 and very nice pie, thinking the club should do this every match. Then.... they shut the bar at half 2 and kick us out! Typical Latics, it's like they don't want to make money sometimes.
Dick_Valentine Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Acceptable standard. :censored:e Lees' Smooth or Carlsberg then
deyres42 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 :censored:e Lees' Smooth or Carlsberg then Some of us like lager Dick. I would no more drink real ale than I would eat avocado.
Dick_Valentine Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Yes I like lager too as I like ale, but Carlsberg?
Dick_Valentine Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Ps please don't speak of Avocado in the same sentence as real ale, hideous green :censored:e!
welshgaz Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I can only echo bowls thoughts. Lees cask was really well kept. Then to be kicked out at 2.30 was ridiculous.
Dick_Valentine Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Hang on a minute, they had cask on? This changes everything
welshgaz Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Hang on a minute, they had cask on? This changes everything Yep. 2.50 a pint.
Dick_Valentine Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Yep. 2.50 a pint. Always knew it was good in there, what's not to like about the O2 business suite. :censored: you Greyhound!
Diego_Sideburns Posted February 2, 2016 Author Posted February 2, 2016 Open again on Saturday for the Blackpool game from 12 noon to 2:45pm and then after the game. Cask ale is The Governor, created by Marco Pierre White and JW Lees Brewery. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/business-suite-open-to-fans-again-on-saturday-2934982.aspx
opinions4u Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Thought I'd bump this. Revenue to the football club!
Latics and England Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 It is worth noting that before the Bury game they were showing the Championship match in there rather than Norwich v Liverpool so I assume they have Sky Sports but not BT Sport. If this is the case, they won't have the City Leicester game on today (probably Rangers and Kilmarnock instead).
