That would suffice, just be honest and upfront with fans that’s all we ask.

According to KE ‘at no stage did Conor make it clear that he wouldn’t sign a new contract’ it was just that he wanted to keep his options open.

They knew there was interest from Ipswich, Hearts & Tranmere who were the favourites but apparently only found out yesterday along with everyone else that he’d signed for Salford!!😳

What an absolute load of bollocks!!

couldn’t a piss in a up run Mo brewery!!

To be fair this explanation is very plausible. Wouldnt be the first or last time it happens. As of 1st July mcaleny had no obligation to inform the club he was signing elsewhere so it could of been the case of ill let u know Keith and then just went and signed elsewhere

And also if we thought he was looking elsewhere and put a statement out saying as much without him formally rejecting a contract then it would have been seen by him as they dont want me. And vise versa if we thought he was goin to sign without him saying im goin to sign and put a statement out saying that and then he went elsewhere we would have looked even more incompetent. So silence until the facts is best way imo

To be honest, Conor made it clear he wouldn't be signing a new contract every time we conceded a goal last season...

Well the facts are out and still silence…Do you really believe the club hadn’t been made aware he was leaving until his contract ran out yesterday?

They could have released a statement on the lines of….We’ve offered Conor an extremely lucrative contract that the player is considering, it may not be good enough. We’ve done our best and we hope he’ll still be with us for next season!!

We heard absolutely f*** all and still haven’t!!

He will have been told by Salford of the players they were looking to sign. KC will have told him who he hoped to sign and the difference in ambition, plus probable higher wages, would convince anyone as to where their future lay.

I think the reality of having limited budget at a club that always loses a fortune each season is starting to sink in with most of us. KC has a major task on to assemble a squad with that budget, especially when he is in competition with other clubs with rich benefactors (eg Salford).

We also need to recognise that many fans are preferring to starve the club of funds as their protest against the owners . This is their perfect right to do if they wish but let's not kid ourselves that this has consequences when competing for players.

Keep working at it Keith...good luck!

The reality dawned on all of us years ago.

You're asking the wrong question if the club are struggling to compete for players why are they therefore going out of there way to alienate the fanbase. When the point your making shows you need them onside paying through the turnstiles to compete on the pitch.

Unbelievable how hes not back here. Knows the club, owners choice in signing when he first came, manager signed him for ntfc, and we are desperate for his exact type of play. How it didn't occur to anyone at the club to bring him back is baffling

Curle brought him to Northampton... Then didn't play him much, and shipped him off to Swindon after just six months.

Pretty obvious Curle was never going to bring him here, however much we need a similar style of player.

He didn't ship him out - Curle didn't leave Northampton until February

Missilou went to Swindon on deadline day in January

"The club’s manager Keith Curle told the club’s official site that he felt the move was in the best interest of all parties. He also added he felt that the window had been a good one overall for Northampton.

He said, “Christopher has found his opportunities here limited in recent weeks and I think that would have continued."

Towards the end of his stay with us he began to look a bit off the pace.  I guess that was more of an issue in League One with quicker players.

That Fulham performance was immense though.

Barely two years ago and not a single player that featured is still at the club

And seven of the Fulham starting eleven that day are/were either out on loan or are no longer at the club ...

There is simply a much higher turnover of players nowadays 😲
