When interviewed on North West Tonight, he was asked if he had done the right thing because Lampard and Gerrard have gone to clubs with very good budgets. He said, "I will know if I have done the right thing in the next few weeks".

He is doing a job. He’s the manager ! He’s 44 years old Danny.

I saw Stanley Matthews play in the top flight when he was 50yo.

He always said he retired a couple of years yearly.

I recommend reading his autobiography for an insight in how it was back then.

As a player or manager ? If you mean a player then neither are a patch on Danny Whittaker 😉. As a manager I’m fookin hoping so.

As a player there's no contest! I'd expect him to do well from the off as a manager

Because what young player wouldn't want to give their all and put themselves in the spotlight that surrounds this Utd and England enigma.

The club's stock has risen a million fold overnight, no bloody wonder Abdullah's smiling like a Cheshire cat

He played for some pub team recently and they lost. I know one man doesn’t make a team, but surely If he still had it they would have won?

Missed it if it’s been mentioned earlier but who else has he brought in if anyone as part of his backroom staff apart from mick priest?

Just MP I believe. Other staff on the bench are all familiar. I think the chap assisting PW is still there so that may be an addition but more of an internal thing.

Nobody except Scoles and Lemsagam...and the accountants, no doubt...which is the way it should be.
