Would take Big Sol.

He's a basket case, will keep us entertained and he has actually done a decent job with Macc.

He'd have no reason to swap Macc for Latics though. I'd imagine he'll stick it out and wait for a bigger gig.

He has applied..

Sol fluked it at Macc. Does the manager even matter anymore? Even Paul Scholes couldn't stop AL from interfering... there is no point to any speculation until AL leaves.

Based on absolutely cock all? He did excellently to keep them in the division, and they were very well organised against Latics, albeit we were crap that day. Its bizarre to say he fluked it.

He kept them up, just, but they didn't exactly shoot up the table.

That said, not sure of the quality of the players he had at his disposal so maybe he did a better job than the table shows.

Might bring Andy Cole with him too.

Just did a bit of research. When he took over Macclesfield had 10 points from 19 games. Macclesfield finished with 44 points from 46 games.

That means Sol Campbell's Macclesfield got 34 points from 27 games. That works out as 58 (rounded up) points over a 46 game season.

We got 62 points, 58 points would have put Macclesfield in 16th.

Not quite Shez levels, but I wouldn't object to Sol Campbell based on that performance for Macclesfield.

Give over with the squad and finances he has - (his budget is the worst in the league) his performances have been superb and to finish 16th would of been a real achievement.

Sorry didn't make myself clear Shez got more points per game. However, as you say Sol Campbell getting that number of points per game at Macclesfield is an impressive achievement.
