Bristolatic
I'm going, but only because it's 25 minutes by train from my nearest station. About 45 minutes in total. I must be mad.

JoeP
I'm going to tick the ground off, visit some old haunts from when I lived down that way and have a pint or two of Tiny Rebel's non-fruity beers.
rudemedic
Doesn't just apply to the over 50s either an adult return is £29. Booked via the Transport for Wales (TfW) App. Be warned though the trains are only a small step up from the bus on wheels Northern use. Plus they don't always have alcohol. Anyone getting a direct train from Manchester to Newport will do well to get a non TfW train.

Any chance you could send a link to adults tickets being £29? Don't worry if not, not even sure why I'm contemplating it!
JoeP
Yeah, just got on the train at Crewe and it's standing room only. 2 coaches. £29 might not seem as good value if you have to stand for two and a half hours..

But it is hidden in the small print.
