Harry Kewell Departure Watch

Do you know what - I'm coming round to your way of thinking..

Has players like Fage imposed on him and a squad generally with little talent, but can get them to put a shift in, on occasions, which makes up for the shortfall...

The "occasions" really do need to come thick and fast and he needs to realise his best team and formation instead of p***ing around with it.

If it indeed is him "p***ing about with it"...

The team today showed three changes today from the starting eleven against Scunthorpe.

Two of those were due to injuries to Clarke and Jameson.

So acceptable pissing around methinks 🤔

I get your drift.

Would the result have been the same, had those two not been injured?
And no saying either of them wouldn't have been dropped anyway.

This has got to be up there with the most ‘load of old tosh’ posts ever on this board.

Did someone hack your account @Wardie?

Yep. What he didn't say was massively obvious..

Terrible attempt to hide the truth..

I thought it was an extraordinary interview, he made little attempt to hide the fact that he does the coaching but team selection etc is a collaborative process between him and ALMO.... To me he made it clear that the arrangement goes well beyond player recruitment

I guess we knew this but it's the first time I've seen a manager admit it and appear happy with the set-up

Still, worked yesterday 😎

Very happy now he is getting this squad  to gel.Very good strikers mean most imo

.We are free scoring and can pass the ball well most of the time.

Play offs are a def possibility.

Love the optimism Flem, but we concede far, far to many to get anywhere near the playoffs.

If kewell can finish top half, (from where we were last season and the cut in playing budget) that would represent success IMO.

As Joe used to say score more than you concede then you win.The defence  has been  abysmal  at times but resolute  in others.Im a fierce critic most of the time but give credit where its due. Time will tell but I will feel better when Zak is back.

I'm not sure I understand football anymore.

We play what most would say was our best side (Wheater excepted) and get rolled over by a side that couldn't buy a win.

We take out both centre backs, almost everyone is expecting a thumping and beat Exeter who were on a roll.

Drop one of the goal scorers who probably had his best match then bang 4 past Barrow.

What next- strongest team on Saturday and get thumped?

Is Kewell learning, a genius, or is this league just so full of so so teams that three wins in five puts you near the top of the pile.

Either way concede a few less and I'll have to get in the optimist boat.

I think the fact that Kewell bamboozles us with his selections may be doing the same to the opposition, who will have watched Latics in preparation and then come up against a team they were not expecting. Does that make sense? 🤪

But yes...Big Joe style...score one more than the oppo.
Job done.
