It's been dry docked by the Chief Coastguard based in the stand over the other side though. Allegedly on "safety grounds" but most suspect it's just so people sail in his own vessel - The Red Fleece - instead....

Lee Sinnott
I was told (almost directly from the horses mouth) that the club were trying to get him to lower the price by 1.8m because of a grant or loan the club believe they are entitled to... It was sold to the council in about 2000 by the then board of directors. David Brierley was Chairman at the time I think. It was very much out of necessity. Can the stand possibly have been closed all this time because of CCTV cameras linked to the police box. They were ok before the stand was closed, or the stand wouldn't have been opened. Singe says they now need to be digital, OK what would be involved in that? New cameras, or a complete new system? Whichever it is it won't cost a fortune. It has cost the club far more than the OEC so far in lost revenue from ticket sales and lost fans. As usual AL cuts off his nose to spite his face. He should have paid up for the necessary changes, then, if it was down to Brassbank, he should have taken it back in his rental payment. Hang on, he hasn't paid any for months (or so we are told). Diego_Sideburns
Quote DMaarms @DMaarms 17h My senior club director source says he/she/they thinks the club will announce over the next few days/next week that the Joe Royle stand will be open for the 20/21 season. Probably extend the early bird offer too. #oafc
GlossopLatic
Barnsley to Move from Oakwell Slightly off on a tangent here but still kind of relevent it looks like we are not the only club with issues between Landlords and Football club owners. For them to line his pocket would be the ultimate kick in the teeth, and they'd deserve any flak they get.
