The football spectator side is nothing to do with the owners of the stand and never has been hence the reason they can quite happily accommodate the ship, gym and the OEC (prior to COVID) and even a fans bar on match days.

Hold on a minute! There is a ship in the Joe Royle Stand!!

It's been dry docked by the Chief Coastguard based in the stand over the other side though.

Allegedly on "safety grounds" but most suspect it's just so people sail in his own vessel - The Red Fleece - instead....

The ship is the Argo some geezer called Jason was enquiring about the fabled powers of the legendary Red Fleece

but was thwarted by a locked fire door apparently 😂

I was told (almost directly from the horses mouth) that the club were trying to get him to lower the price by 1.8m because of a grant or loan the club believe they are entitled to...

Quick report it to GMP.......oh they did already!:bobby:

the council did that long before Blitz did - wasn’t it Lees brewery who sold it?

Sort of.  It was sold to the council in about 2000 by the then board of directors.  David Brierley was Chairman at the time I think.  It was very much out of necessity.

I emailed her and she said the issues in North Stand are the CCTV to the police box why this still hasn’t been sorted is laughable

Words fail me. Can the stand possibly have been closed all this time because of CCTV cameras linked to the police box. They were ok before the stand was closed, or the stand wouldn't have been opened. Singe says they now need to be digital, OK what would be involved in that? New cameras, or a complete new system? Whichever it is it won't cost a fortune. It has cost the club far more than the OEC so far in lost revenue from ticket sales and lost fans. As usual AL cuts off his nose to spite his face. He should have paid up for the necessary changes, then, if it was down to Brassbank, he should have taken it back in his rental payment. Hang on, he hasn't paid any for months (or so we are told).

Hope CoCo doesn’t read that we will be down at Ashton by Christmas

You have to wonder which 2 Lancashire clubs they are referring too here we must be geographically the closest to Barnsley? Gigg lane isn't doing much at the moment so perhaps their is the opportunity.

Gigg Lane is still owned by Dale? For them to line his pocket would be the ultimate kick in the teeth, and they'd deserve any flak they get.

Meanwhile 10 months later;

"Regarding a brief, but promising update on the North Stand, the club has had some very productive communications with the landlord and is hoping to make a further detailed announcement in the near future."

10 months? They have now decided to talk about a proposal made by the OEC 19 months ago.
