I’m sorry but Keillor-Dunn was terrible, beyond terrible in fact. I don’t understand how anyone can say he wasn’t. Doesn’t matter if it was his first game or not, a shit performance is a shit performance.

I’ll be the first to come on here next week and praise him if he plays well, but the topic of this thread is today’s  game, and today he was fucking shite!

I thought he had a poor game. I think "beyond terrible" is an over-reaction.

We have a squad full of 6/10 players and that was a 6/10 performance. Unfortunately we don’t have the 8/10 attacker to win us a game we’ve played below par in. And we don’t have the 8/10 defender (on the pitch) to stop shitty late goals.

We’ll win some of those type games so it’s not all doom and gloom but there’s nothing much so far to suggest a big upturn in form from recent seasons.

One positive is that a lot of these players are young so could progress from 6/10 given time.

6/10 :D

Bloody wish we did.

And yet according to the match report he was involved in our two best attacking moves:

Harry Kewell’s side created a fantastic opportunity in the 61st minute as Keillor-Dunn played a lovely weighted through ball in behind to Conor McAleny. The attacker couldn’t quite control the pass which took him wide but from an angle, he struck low and hard at goal, but Lawrence Vigouroux denied him with his legs.

Latics went in search of the winner and came close when Keillor-Dunn had the vision to play Zak Dearnley through down the right and the striker pulled his pass back to Danny Rowe inside the penalty box. Rowe turned and shoot at goal, but it went straight at the goalkeeper.

Hamer poor, Dunn poor, Grant poor, the comment that Rowe doesn't look interested is pathetic, he didn't get given the ball enough. Always carries himself like that. Fage did OK. Can see Rowe and Dearnley in for Grant and Dunn next game. Wheater needs be at CB and Jombati at RB instead of Hamer.

BUT! Only the first league game so not writing us off yet

Agree with pretty much all of that.

Don’t let facts get in the way of anointing the early season Richard Butcher of 2020/21

I’ve not read the match report, does it mention the 46 times he gave it away? Does it mention how a 38 year old ran quicker over 20 yards than he did over 10?

An objective eye for a player, is very different to the emotion of following your own club.

I say what I see.

The poster D Eyres is a troll, I block his personal comments.

Dunn has scored 4 goals in a month for us.....Rowe has managed 3 in 9 months.....but don’t let what actually happens get in your way

Rowe offers a lot more than goals. Dunn can’t pass a ball

People keep saying that but I would argue that he he is not quick, not good in the air , not pariculsrly mobile,  not good when the opposition have the ball, not a great holder up of the ball. He has a tremendous shot and is a free kick specialist but is in danger of becoming very overrated in our desire for him to be something we hoped he might be.....just my opinion and I may be wrong

Rowe takes 2/3 defenders with him which leaves us with a lot of space for others to exploit. Invariably, they waste it.

He offers very good close control and creates his own space.

Opinions are fine, but when it becomes constantly personal like from the poster D Eyres then that's not acceptable, and why he's blocked by me.

Wouldn't call it personal, just surprises me that you are so quick to make sweeping judgements about players given your career.

Becoming very boring you. Clearly it was an assessment of one match regarding Dunn. He was poor yesterday. As mentioned by others, Rowe has contributed well in other games but in relation to yesterday's game, he wasn't given the ball enough as I stated.

Plain facts are that Orient had more posession than us, more attempts on goal than us and scored the only goal of the game and won the 3pts

Orient finished 17th last season and will likely finish in a similar position this season

Appreciate its only one game but our squad isnt bursting with talent and goals is it

Its vital we get at least 4pts from the Stevenage and Crawley games because October looks quite daunting with away games at Colchester Bolton and Salford, hopefully a chance for points at home v Morecambe and Carlisle but after what was on show yesterday, Boundary Park isnt going to be a fortress is it

Just maybe, recruiting your players from non league football isnt going to change our fortunes around after all

Who would have thought it .  . . .
