100% record when I start the thread!!

Up until 1459 on sat I was dropping Hamer for the new chap and moving Jombati to his normal position, but can't really do that now so he's going to have to wait.

l was also droppin Garrity but he did better so same starting XI as Bolton for me. Dearnley first sub after about an hour, maybe at HT.

Massive difference in having Hamer at right wing back with Ntambwe behind him, to last week with Fage at right wing back and Hamer behind him.

Even so our defence still has to get out of panic mode as soon as the opposition cross the half way line.

If it had been Hamer who had been so badly skinned for the Bolton goal instead of Barnett (who Roy made man of the match) he'd have been massacred on here.

Not sure where the Arsenal lad will fit in now. Nice problem to have for Kewell.

Clarke for Jombati.

Pretty much Barnets first mistake tho and he is basically a kid thrown in as a last resort a couple of times but kept doing well. I like him.

I'd say it's not that difficult. I think Jim Batty (Roy's aside, not mine) is crap. We looked a lot calmer once he was taken off.  He would be better as a RB.

With contrasting number of league appearances though.

I thought Hamer looked much more comfortable as a wing back on Saturday, even his crossing was decent.

Not having to be as error free, because of the cover behind probably gives any (young) player confidence going forward.

Think the 3-4-3 formation has worked quite well and allows us to be stronger defensively, especially centrally, without losing attacking presence. As the 3-4-3 can easily turn into 3-6-1 without the ball we aren't getting overrun in midfield either.

I missed that.  He had a better game by not having much defensive responsibility, but don't think he created as much as Barnett.

Neither Jombati nor Hamer should be at centre back or in a back three.  I think Jombati offers more than Hamer going forward in terms of speed and passing, but good to have options.

Steady ....we have conceded the most goals in the entire football league.....we even conceded one on Saturday to a team who had failed to score in all 3 of the home games before that😀

. The 3 at the back worked well on Saturday to be fair but I think we are underestimating how poor 3 or 4 of the Bolton side were

If we make the following assumptions:

Lawlor and Jombati are not fit.

Clarke is match fit.

All the other main contenders are fit and that Kewell sticks with the fluid  3-4-3 formation then the starting eleven could be:

Bilboe, Ntambwe, Clarke, Piergianni, Hamer, McAlmont, Whelan, Barnett, Bahamboula or Dearnley, McEleny, Rowe

Bahamboula is a game changer but still looks short of match fitness so maybe he starts with Dearnley coming on off the bench. Also Garrity must be a consideration after his much improved display last time out.

As someone said earlier, a nice problem to have.

I'd imagine Garrity will get the nod over Macca as he was playing shite and still getting picked, be strange to drop him after he moved into the above average category and also scored.

Prefer McCalmont and  Garrity to Mc + Whelan. Not sure there's a fit for Whelan if McCalmont is in.

Come on Athletic irrespective of what side we put out.

We haven't specialised in back to back wins much for the last few seasons but now would be a great time to start.

Games are coming thick and fast now (COVID19 permitting) and its a great time to put a winning sequence together

I'll probably regret it but I'll be breaking my iFollow virginity tonight.  How long before kick-off should I be expecting to see something on screen?

5x minutes Dave, you've then got the delights of Roy's voice.........
