1-1 is about right there. Typical Latics performance that, poor for 2/3rds of the game, and then play some really decent stuff. The lad on loan from Coventry had a good game, and is an automatic starter based on that. Baha as usual was terrific at times when he came on.

Poor first half, good last 20 minutes.

Defence wasn't right from the off, half time changes really did improve the team.

Good debut from Marcel, very encouraging.

Credit to Lawlor for a couple of trademark reflex saves, plus he actually caught a few today.

If dropping Dylan B was tactical or a reaction to the Mansfield performance, don't bother HK, we cant do without him.

Danny Rowe runs the team, needs to play every game.

Subs changed it, we looked the far more likely team to win it at the end. Frustrating that it takes them going 1-0 again to play though, and there's still too many passengers in the side

Hilßner was excellent I thought, always looking for the ball and has a real eye for a pass. Considering I'm assuming that's his first game for a long time he looked really good. Could be just what we've missed in home games, someone to unlock a tight defence

It wasn't just the subs that changed it but change of tactics as well.

Played much higher up the park 2nd half & squeezed the midfield more. We should do this a lot more. As soon as the back 4 drop back the gaps appear all over our half giving them far too much room.

I'm not sure it's a big game next week, can't see this squad getting anywhere near promotion or relegation

Equidistant from relegation and play offs but realistically closer to the former as we've played more games than most

We all say that the defence is poor but how much is down to the lack of midfield in front of them?

Midfield is clearly the main issue. They are so scared of being under any pressure and just lump it forward. It's why we're often under the cosh for such large periods of games because it takes 5 lucky bounces for us to re-compose ourselves and start attacking again.

Garrity looked OK when he came on, still managed to pass to one of their lads when the black shirt option was an easier ball.

All in all a pretty dull game between two dull teams who will finish mid-table. The Pilsner looked alright in midfield but some of the lads looked like they didn't want to pass to him.

Our nest form of defence  is attack.Too many weak passes won by Walsall.Too many crosses to no one up front and I'm fed up of these short corners  which have crept back in again .

Good use of subs and Rowe is class along with Bam and the new signing looks promising .Glad our away record  is intact. HK has to get them playing like that at home.

They pressed us really well in the first half and were the better team for the first hour, but the double sub and dropping Hilßner deeper in centre mid changed the game.

I'll take a point there, performances have been pretty rubbish in the league since Newport, so it's good to see something a bit better at the end today.

Makes it all the more frustrating that they'll probably finish lower mid table. It's such an ordinary league, no stand out teams at all

Nope, and we're playing our part.

Cheers, Owners..

Who’d have thought that DKD and Garrity would change the game but they did, a bit of enthusiasm worked well on this occasion.

McCalmont dreadful today, Mcaleney really struggles to get into games far too often, CBJ much too casual. Thought Hamer ok but suspect Kewell moved Fage to right back to acknowledge his decent link up play with Bamba.

Deserved a point.

This is a team that has too many players lacking in confidence, both on and off the ball, and too many who show poor skills when attempting the basics. And how many times have we all said that this season?

But its the inconsistency that is so frustrating.

DKD comes on and his first three touches are horrendous. He then proceeds to score the equaliser and make a very good defensive interception.

Garrity who must have the worst pass completion rate of anyone in our squad then comes on and, until that late misplaced ball, looks assured in the middle.

Then there’s the lack of urgency - it wasn’t until the last twenty minutes that we seemed to show any desire to get forward quickly. And when we did we caused them problems.

However there were a few positives from today:

A solid debut from Hilssner.

A good defensive display from Clarke. Has his loan been extended?

A much improved display from Lawlor.

A week off off before we play Newport. Will we have brought in one or two more by then?

Thought it was Bahamboulah who changed the game. As soon as he came on he had 2 or 3 defenders watching him leaving loads of space for Garrity's but especially DKD's runs, and still DKD managed to balls it up a couple of times.

When 3 are on him others players should be available in space to receive the ball from him and immediately switch play, too often though they are nowhere near him to do this.
