LaticMark 464
According to the latest commercial update from Business Development Manager, Jamie Stoddart, the selling of the naming rights to Boundary Park is on the agenda once again. https://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/2021/february/03022021-commercial-update/ Apart from the the oil industry business BP, can anyone suggest a suitable company? https://www.theoldhamtimes.co.uk/sport/19066839.oldham-athletic-open-boundary-park-naming-rights-deal/

kowenicki 736
Who cares really? If it generates cash then great. We will all still call BP. Never seen the issue with this. Can't possibly be as bad as the University of Bolton* Stadium (*Bolton Tech)

Agreed. And AL undid the Sports Direct Deal, which probably cost us a good few grand. Ingenious.

the_mighty_bosh 1,256
Seeing as we'll always call it Boundary Park, I'd be happy with anything ridiculous like Sportsdirect.com Park or the Tony Macaroni Arena if it brought in a worthwhile amount of money.

Dave_Og 3,649
Austrian football really has taken every Schilling available. The names are hilarious, closest we got here was Jimmy Hill wanting to change Coventry City to Coventry Talbot. From a different age horses having names like Sanyo Music Centre all but killed showjumping which had a lot of coverage on BBC until horses with names like that became commonplace
Monty Burns 2,196
Yep. Do it. Who cares what is printed on a ticket or a website? Nobody is forcing you to use the new name. Anybody know if AL has managed to buy the Lookers Stand yet?

Boroblue 0
https://drinksfeed.com/when-dickens-cider-from-down-under-becomes-dick-inside-her/ Perhaps with our Australian connections we could get Dickens Brewery involved. Famed for their Cider, ‘The Dickens Cider Stadium’.
