Recommended Posts

According to the latest commercial update from Business Development Manager, Jamie Stoddart, the selling of the naming rights to Boundary Park is on the agenda once again.

Apart from the the oil industry business BP, can anyone suggest a suitable company?

Who cares really?

If it generates cash then great.

We will all still call BP.  Never seen the issue with this.

Can't possibly be as bad as the University of Bolton* Stadium

(*Bolton Tech)

Agreed.  And AL undid the Sports Direct Deal, which probably cost us a good few grand.  Ingenious.

He probably thought it was a good fan PR exercise.... mistake.  The dinosaurs that get all uppity about tradition on these matters are few and far between.

10) Mitsubishi Forklift Stadion (FC Omniworld - Holland)
9) Bumthang Stadium (Bhutan)
8).Arnold Schwarzenegger Stadium (Sturm Graz - Austria)
7) Dick's Sporting Goods Park (Colorado Rapids - USA)

6) Hunky Dorys Park (Drogheda - Ireland)

5) Cashpoint Arena (SC Rheindorf Altach - Austria)
4) Bargain Booze Stadium (Witton Albion - England)

3) KitKat Crescent (York City - England)
2) Middelfart Stadium (Denmark)
1) Wankdorf Stadion (BSC Young Boys - Switzerland)

Apparently No. 7 was originally going to be called ‘Dick’s Stadium’ ..😱

Austrian football really has taken every Schilling available. The names are hilarious, closest we got here was Jimmy Hill wanting to change Coventry City to Coventry Talbot.

From a different age horses having names like Sanyo Music Centre all but killed showjumping which had a lot of coverage on BBC until horses with names like that became commonplace
