BPAS PODCAST: 8th Feb '21 Episode 21: Children of the Evolution

Recommended Posts

Latics fixture away at Scunthorpe was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch but Matt had three eager Latics fans waiting to jump online and talk shop, so the podcast was never in any danger. In addition to the general discussion with fans Will G, Will H and Gareth, Matt is joined by the hosts of the other two Latics podcasts, Walking Down Sheepfoot Lane and The Chaddy Enders. So no match, but still loads to talk about in Latics world.

All good, well presented and thoughtful - but what's left to say that's new....

We conducted an interview last week.... and have another lined up to do this week.... both of which we believe will help take the discussion on further.

Equally, we have guests invited to appear who we believe have unique perspectives from which share their views/opinions.

Then of course, the passage of time always allows for new events to occur from which to discuss. The invitation will always remain open for anyone to come forward who wishes to express an opinion they don't believe has been aired so far.

While some circumstances may remain constant, we still think there is plenty to talk about or investigate. Ultimately, the conversation can also move from 'saying' to 'doing' at any stage....?

Loads. The discussion will move on to how fans need to organise themselves to affect real change. Give it time. It’s all good.

Good listen Matt.

I don’t think a Sporting director in itself is a problem. The issue is who we have in post. I actually quite like the idea of someone constant at the club who is looking at the academy/pathways to first team/recruitment. Instead of someone who masquerades as SD when in fact he is a de-facto manager.

Exactly, and you've answered your earlier question here. Every time a podcast like this is broadcast, it undermines the notion that fans are happy with/don't care about the way ALMO are running the club.
