Please

Come on , when Karl Evans first came to the club he talked about improving fan engagement and building bridges , and to an extent he tried to do that through his twitter account , but clearly didn’t like criticism or a difference of opinions and soon through his toys out of the pram and blocked people who challenged him

Agree with the latter bit, but you said "we all thought that Karl was a breath of fresh air" - which cleary wasn't the case. Talk is cheap, and a fair few of us were concerned given his past involvement with Bury, therefore remaining sceptical as to how much of that talk was just lip service.

He was part of Bury's hierarchy that sent the club into oblivion that was red flag for many. I didn't see anyone heralding it as being a new beginning.

He has tried to engage with the fan, but because the fans and the owner are so far apart on almost all issues the job is pretty much impossible. The owner himself pretty much has hid away in an ivory tower for the last 12 months not engaging with the fans or the press.

Karl told the Trust a few weeks ago that he needed to get to April and then he could crack on with engaging with the OEC team.

Bearing in mind, it had been a couple of emails up to then.

Hello April.....

That's exactly right, looking at the original thread there weren't many people who actually thought it was a good appointment https://www.owtb.co.uk/topic/52122-new-md-karl-evans and in my opinion he hasn't really made a positive impact on the club since being appointed. But it's a thankless task working for this lot, so I don't really blame him for being so ineffective.

Agree, no disrespect to the trust or those that give their time to it but it is absolutely pointless, toothless and a bit of a joke

This weeks events say it all - a seat on the board yet they seem as in the dark as anyone and when they do speak they say “we can’t comment”

Who do they represent again?

I get that - he seemed full of beans when he arrived, I just wonder if he’s still feeling that way a few months in especially as he’s the one trying to sell a good ST deal whilst taking the questions that those above him should be fielding

Yep he’s also the one that (apparently) decided on the insulting  £40 refund for 20/21 ST holders and more disgusting is that the fans so called champions “trust” agree with him ???

anyone buying a season ticket for 20/21 must have known the chances of seeing games at the ground was minimal - personally I don’t see a need for refunds at all

Well said, it won't be up to him that decision

Is that your cryptic way of suggesting that your man Baz will be on the phone to Abdallah trying to make life difficult for Karl? We all know that Barry will be back if/once KE leaves...

As a 20-21 season ticket holder I knew that there was a possibility of further disruption to attendance at games. I didn’t anticipate that the full season would be played out behind closed doors though.

However the ability to watch all the home matches on iFollow has allowed me to get my Latics fix during lockdown. And although the quality of the ‘fix’ has been decidedly lacking for large parts of this campaign, I am in no way insulted by the club providing online access to the games and the partial refund offer.

What has made the viewing experience more palatable for me is the setting up of a WhatsApp group to include a couple of the lads I would normally attend the games with.

Oh the bantz...it’s like being together at the match...almost 😎

Its the first step to get senior members of both parties at the table. Bearing in mind the last time it was done was in May 2019.

Next step is A set agenda of topics like finances, strategy, review of the 3-5 year plan. It gives the club a chance to be more open, honest, transparent with the fanbase.  without the NDA's that were being chucked at us. The remaining fan expectations so to speak

It's David and Goliath fight engagement over the last few seasons. You only have to look at how the club reacted to out letter of complaint in December 2019 with regards to the accounts and how they character assassinated Philippa over it....Philippa who skills are being sought after by the FSA now.

Its a chance of a fresh start. There have been changes of personnel at the club. Below are links to FSA articles on it and ow it has been adopted at other EFL clubs

Intelligence gathering by ourselves and PTB is critical, there are different methods to do this. This will be board level directors engaging together.

The 3-5 year plan will have to be retrieved from the scrap bin, I suspect its been shredded though.
