BPAS PODCAST SEASON 2: 22nd Nov '21 Episode 59: I Saw No Flat Cap

Recommended Posts

Recorded in the OEC straight after the dramatic late win against Port Vale, in a BPAS first - an "outside broadcast"! A huge three points for Keith Curle, who hadn't covered himself in glory with his pre-game comments. We do the usual round up of news and events, only face to face for the very first time!

That was another good listen, thank you.

I was interested in the "siege mentality" discussion at the very end, that wouldn't surprise me at all if it was developing inside your club.

Fan - led review - yes, hopefully this week and fingers crossed it will be radical and have the "teeth" that Andy was asking for. If I can plug my own Supporters Trust for a minute, we have an extensive section on the FLR which we will update next week. It can be viewed here, for those of you that are interested   :

Huge implications for your Foundation, I predict.

I was pleased to see that you got a good, positive acknowledgement for the protest strategy for Vale/Forest Green on EFL on Quest on Saturday night - they are a programme that were very supportive of us during our own troubles. I think an empty stadium for FGR will send a very powerful message to the regional and national media if you can get them to cover it - empty seats at Wembley for our L2 play-off final (when we only sold 4,000 tickets) got us a lot of attention, especially as it was the first time we had played there since taking 38,000 for the Championship play-off final.

And the Stockport discussion reflected what we are seeing at our club, to some degree ; from crowds of around 1,500 in the dying days of the Oystons we are now averaging around 12,000 and the feel-good factor for many of our fans is as strong now as it has been in many years. So it can be done.

Good luck with the awards tonight. I certainly enjoy what you do and let's face it - any clown can do a Podcast about a club like Liverpool or Man City. Constantly finding the energy to fight the good fight as you are doing takes a lot more character and I hope you get some recognition.
