longtimeblue Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) Another 1-0. Give someone a thumping when we've got a full midfield to choose from (hopefully Mellon knows the 3/4/5 he prefers as I've no idea). Edited September 26, 2024 by longtimeblue Quote

TheBigDog Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 It seems to me that every game is a test… on paper we should win but games are not…yadda yadda Defensively we look very organised and disciplined but we still need to work on our finishing when on top in a game. Quote

Norewgian Gunnar Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Not seen much yet from Dolan in my opinion. I would prefer Hammond and Charsley (once fit) to be in the team before him 1 Quote

Hemel latic Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Charsley walks into the team for me. Same energy as Hammond but a very accomplished footballer too. Having said that I think Hammond's footballing skills are under rated but he is clearly developing as a player, hopefully he has a high ceiling in the modern parlance. This is a must win game. Need to guard against complacency. Any away game is potentially a tough game. Do what we did at Wealdstone and Woking, go out and stamp our authority on the game and the opposition in the first 20 minutes. This lot will be low on confidence, get at them. 2 Quote
simplythemostimportantkick Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 It’s time for a new typical Oldham. This is where our first thumping of many is given out. 0-5. Norwood (4) GN9 the other. Quote
Lags Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 On form it's a latics victory. As much as the FGR result was a statement, this needs a 3 to 5 goal salvo to make another. Quote
Littlemoor Lad Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Happy with a win and on current form, another clean sheet. 1 Quote
philliggi Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 If memory serves we were on a good run when we played ebbsfleet last year. 4 wins on the bounce or something similar going into it. They had just got a new manager in and we expected to roll them over. It ended in a drab 0-0, norwood got injured and we went on a 15 game winless run. All this is from memory, not checked factually but the point still stands. No matter how much the odds are weighted in your favour we have to approach it professionally, do what we do best, and control the game. It could just as easily be 1-0 to them as us sticking 5 past them 1 Quote
L1onheartNew Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Going to be a long day for me. Grand Final at MCG in the afternoon (fly at 6:30), and as this is a 5:30 kick off, 2:30am Here. If it's as good GF as last year, then happy days. Just need us to win this time! Something feels different about Latics this season. I haven't got or had that usual feeling of doom... Quote
BradKnowles1 Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 On the train to this. We don’t want typical latics. Draw or a loss will be a poor result. Just get the win. Quote
oldham57 Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 Forget the 3 goals or 5 goals, we're still a work in progress up front....just 3 points, every team in this league is capable of an upset, so....yes this is the acid test, consistency is the key, let's get the win and keep the momentum going ️ Quote
yarddog73 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 With this game and then Solihull it's a great opportunity to cement our playoff place, they'll try to keep it tight given they've struggled, early goal would help and it would be a bonus if Kay or Charsley made the bench. Quote

Could be a game for Gardner and Dolan. Both can unlock a defence. Quote

GlossopLatic Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 We've scored in every game but 9 of the 11 We've scored only 1 in. Kind of feel we are going to need to be scoring more often in games to sustain a promotion push as our defence won't always keep a clean sheet tomorrow would be a good time to do that. Quote
Lee Sinnott Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 He should probably be sacked if this lot get a corner against us... Quote
sjk2008 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 It’s never stunk of a 1-0 loss more Quote
deyres42 Posted September 27, 2024 Posted September 27, 2024 What's our biggest away victory in the National League? Expect that to be beaten. Quote
