That will be really shit

Why is it bad, sorry?  Day on the ale to warm the cockles of those attending.

Plus it'll be on DAZN TV for those that can't go, with expert analysis and camera angles..

If this is the case and the official NL website seems to indicate it, why haven't we been made aware?

Seen how poor the BBC are with NL coverage, so if they've updated it, it can't have just been decided.
Only other thing I can think of is there's been a mistake somewhere in the media and all sources pick up the same KO time/date from somewhere. Sure it happened last season with one of our games.

You'd think they'd let the fans know ASAP especially with it being Boxing Day ..

Just think of the additional hours of recovery post-Christmas Day.

Personally I like it. But then again there's no way I'm making a 3pm KO on Boxing Day but might make a 5.30 KO

Works for some Ben, I'd prefer 3.00 but if the club are getting TV money as well as a fullish house I suppose the ends justify the means.

Hopefully we give them a decent allocation and the favour is returned when we go to their place at the end of the season.

It's likely to be one of the top crowds in the NL this season and will probably be 10k plus.

I'd imagine they'll get the whole Chaddy as per Wrexham.

Trying to think of the last Boxing Day match with such an atmosphere. Blackpool in 2006 probably.

Re Boxing Day:

It should be our highest attendance of the season (best to date this season is 7,030 versus Solihull) - expect 8k from Oldham so York would need to bring circa 2k to reach five figures.

Re the away fixture:

York’s ground capacity is 8,500 - they are regularly getting 5-6k attendances (with the recent game against Hartlepool attracting a crowd of 7,654 - Hartlepool’s allocation was an initial 1,500 with a potential 300 more) - expect us to receive a similar allocation.

That's what we got last year.

That's a bummer if true.

Because it doesn't work out for me personally 😉

⬆️ Not good for the 3 of us, but good for the club because of the TV revenue I suppose.

Anyone recall how much the club receives from DAZN?

Anyone know what the DAZN deal means for clubs financially?

Not sure what the TNT deal brought in per club, and then extra for a televised game - and whether its better or worse under the new lot.

Also - can a club say no?  I think moving the KO time on Boxing Day is hard to judge if it helps/hinders/does nothing to the attendance - but if it does reduce numbers you'd have to hope the pay-out makes up for it.

Can't see it can enhance attendance at all

Sometimes moving a game KO away from the majority of other games might encourage a few more to attend (perhaps those that also watch City who play at lunchtime) or if it avoids clashing with a big TV game (on this occasion it moves it to a Man Utd TV game).  Particularly on Boxing Day when you get people who might only go to one game a year.

However, I think its likely to hurt numbers, hence wondering if the TV fee compensates.

I think the tv deal is pretty minimal at this level I think it was only £6k per game under BT/TNT I doubt it will have gone up. Personally I don't see it making much of a difference we'll get a big crowd for this Boxing day games often do especially if both clubs keep this form up.

Wow.

£6k...assuming an average spend of £30 per person for a 'big game' (gate fee plus a bit of food/drink), that only covers a drop of 200 through the gates.

Well not alot of people will be watching on tv most will be at the game so I doubt we will see much of a drop in attendance anyway. It will be our biggest crowd of the season so far.

I only wonder if we will try and get home fans in the chaddy for this one and split it.
