BPAS Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 (edited) It was a hard way to lose the game, but everyone associated with Oldham Athletic left Brisbane Road with heads held high after the closest of 2-1 defeats to L1 Leyton Orient. TheBigDog Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 A good listen. The podcast analysis was fair and balanced. Andy made a number of observations that were very pertinent and on point. * The team worked tirelessly all game. * From 60 minutes onwards we did tire and in the end Orient were the better side * We did play too much long ball * The game was a decent indication of where we are on our journey - and which players may fall short as we rise up the pyramid * The scenes at full full-time showed that the rapport between fans and players is strong The BTB article was well written and, if a tad long, made me smile. And as for the quiz - I scored a mighty 3 points Final thought - Matt stated that Saturday was a good memory I’m not sure ‘good’ is the word I would choose… Quote
JoeP Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 100% on Latics Mind . Andy Campbell also did the "ear-cupping" celebration to the Chaddy End on the first day of the season after his hatrick.. and got a bottle lobbed at his head that time. Ginger tosser... 1 Quote

Takes one to know one... . Did you really get 100%?? Not sat the test yet but I'd be well happy with 4! Quote

I wish I still fell into the "ginger" category. Yup, I remember Andy Campbell - he scored the winner for Cardiff in the play-off final we should have been at. Jombatti was a bit of a guess and Lee Croft seems to feature quite a bit in Laticsmind, so when in doubt.... Quote

For some reason Luke Beckett is my go to answer if there's a goal involved and I have no idea Quote
League one forever Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I got two. I said Eyres for the Lee Croft question, and as it fell out of my mouth I realised he would’ve been about 48 at the time. . . Quote
Hemel latic Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Loved the BTB article. Beautifully written, nicely read too. That's a nice segment, more please. Well done all round on a good listen as ever. Quote

rudemedic Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Knew the Jombati one because it stemmed from an incident at the end of the home fixture where Jombati and Vaughan (ex-Everton) had an altercation after the final whistle. The referee who didn't cover himself in glory managing the situation was Alan Young. Alan Young joins Joe Worrall in costing us an FA Cup tie to which he should never have been appointed. In Mr Young's case it wasn't due to his allegiances, but because he was poorly rated and then in 2021 forgot to play injury time in the first half of a Leyton Orient game. He shouldn't be allowed to ref on Clayton Playing Fields. Quote
