Monty Burns Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 l'm really really sorry put this in main forum. any chance we can let it slide til midday? l've got two 1.25KG Tomahawks l'm cooking for my and my son Xmas dinner today (we always do it early bc we are busy Xmas day) problem is l've never cooked them before and l am intimidated by their size. l normal cook ribeye for about 8mims turning every 30 seconds in a hottt pan. these will not go in a pan and will require oven cooking. disjointed Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Tricky one, I would still go for the pan (assuming the bbq option is out). Season well before cooking, wrap some tinfoil round the protruding bone (you may have to trim to make enough of a handle). Heat the pan/skillet to the usual rib eye temp and then cook as you would a rib eye using the bone handle to press the steak against the pan surface wear some heat proof gloves till cooked and then let the steaks rest then enjoy. 1 Quote
